Every male candidate must expand the chest by at least 5 cm. Women are exempt from the chest standard. A transgender candidate follows the male or female standard that is written on the certificate, and must submit that certificate. A candidate must not have any physical disability, knock-knee or flat-foot, or any eye disease, must be able to tell the main colours apart and must be medically fit. The Selection Committee’s decision on height and chest is final.
The notification gives the pay as Pay Matrix Level-4, approved by the Government, plus allowances payable from time to time. It does not state the basic pay amount, so do not trust any figure quoted on social media. Check the pay matrix on the official website before you decide.

All five events are compulsory. To qualify you need 60 out of 100 if Unreserved and 50 out of 100 if SC, ST or OBC. If you are unhappy with your score you may appeal to the Selection Committee, which decides at once, and its decision is final.
Up to 15 times the number of posts are called for the written exam, and everyone at the cut-off is included. The paper covers General Knowledge, reasoning, analytical ability, local geography, culture, tradition, social values and arithmetic. The notification does not give the number of questions, the time allowed or the marking scheme.
