Role Name - Senior Principal Digital Product Owner
Location - Bangalore
Purpose of the Role
Drive the identification, evaluation, and integration of best-in-class digital and AI-led ESG / sustainability solutions to accelerate TVS Motor’s sustainability agenda. The role focuses on leveraging external ecosystem innovations to enable measurable impact across environmental, social, and governance dimensions, rather than building in-house products.
Role Description
Scout, benchmark, and evaluate global ESG and sustainability-focused digital/AI solutions (e.g., carbon accounting, supply chain traceability, ESG reporting tools).
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (ESG, operations, IT, strategy) to translate sustainability goals into digital solution requirements.
Lead solution selection, vendor evaluation, and pilot programs for ESG technologies.
Drive integration of selected platforms into existing enterprise systems and workflows.
Work closely with vendors/startups to customize and deploy solutions aligned to TVS business context.
Monitor evolving ESG regulations, frameworks (GRI, SASB, TCFD, BRSR), and ensure technology alignment with compliance needs.
Track industry trends and emerging technologies in AI for sustainability (e.g., predictive analytics for emissions, resource optimization).
Define success metrics and ensure adoption, scalability, and business impact realization.
Managing Points (Key KPI/KRA’s)
Identification and onboarding of relevant ESG digital/AI solutions
Time-to-evaluate and deploy sustainability tech solutions
Measurable impact on ESG goals (e.g., emissions reduction, reporting accuracy, resource efficiency)
Adoption rate and usability of deployed solutions across business units
Vendor performance and ROI from implemented solutions
Compliance readiness aligned with ESG reporting frameworks
Number of successful pilot-to-scale transitions
Functional Competency
Strong understanding of ESG frameworks, sustainability metrics, and reporting standards
Hands-on exposure to ESG tech platforms (carbon accounting tools, ESG analytics, LCA tools, etc.)
Experience in evaluating and integrating enterprise digital/AI solutions
Knowledge of AI/analytics applications in sustainability (forecasting, optimization, risk assessment)
Vendor management and solution lifecycle management
Ability to translate business needs into tech requirements and integration architecture
Awareness of emerging sustainability tech ecosystem (startups, SaaS platforms, tools)
Behavioral Competency
High curiosity and passion for ESG/sustainability space
Strong external orientation (market scanning, networking, ecosystem engagement)
Analytical and structured thinking for solution evaluation
Stakeholder collaboration and influencing without authority
