CGPDTM works under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce & Industry. It grants patents and registers designs, trade marks, copyright, geographical indications and layout designs of integrated circuits. Selected candidates will be posted at the Indian IP Office, New Delhi, and may have to visit IP Offices at Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Nagpur as required.

All degrees must come from an institute of national importance or an equivalent reputed institution or university.

Age is counted as on 1st July of the year of advertisement. The cut-off date for deciding eligibility is the closing date for receipt of applications. Only Indian nationals can apply. The notice mentions no age relaxation for any category.

Candidates who previously applied for these posts under the public notice dated 01.02.2026 or 05.05.2026 need not reapply, as they remain ineligible for the current recruitment year.

Shortlisting uses three things: a higher qualification than the minimum, more experience than the minimum, and the desirable qualification. The merit list is valid for 1 year. If a selected candidate does not join or resigns, the next candidate in the list gets the offer.
The interview is at the CGPDTM office, Bouddhik Sampada Bhawan, Plot No. 32, Sector 14, Dwarka, New Delhi-110078. Documents are verified on the interview day, before the interview. No T.A. or D.A. is paid for attending the interview. The interview date will be communicated later.
Applications received through any other mode will not be accepted and are summarily rejected. The notice does not describe the form screens, so follow the website instructions.
