The notice gives the minimum qualification for every post as “As per UGC Norms”, and the specialization is Open for all posts. The notice does not list degrees, experience or an age limit, so read the UGC rules for your post before applying and keep proof ready.
| Post | Minimum Qualification |
|---|---|
| Professor | As per UGC Norms |
| Associate Professor | As per UGC Norms |
| Assistant Professor | As per UGC Norms |
Two conditions can cost you the interview. Mere fulfilment of the minimum qualification does not entitle you to an interview. And a candidate who is already employed must apply through proper channel or attach an NOC from the employer. This is mandatory, failing which you will not be called for interview.
The notice states a pay scale for each post. No other allowance or pay level is mentioned in it, so these are the figures to rely on.
| Post | Pay Scale |
|---|---|
| Professor | Rs. 1,44,200 to Rs. 2,18,200 |
| Associate Professor | Rs. 1,31,400 to Rs. 2,17,100 |
| Assistant Professor | Rs. 57,700 to Rs. 1,82,400 |
The notice names two things only: short-listing and interview.
| Stage | Detail |
|---|---|
| Short-listing | The university may short-list applicants if a large number apply for one post |
| Interview | Short-listed applicants are called for interview |
The university has also reserved the right to revise, reschedule, cancel, suspend or withdraw the recruitment process, and to change the number and nature of posts. It will not reply to letters about postal delay, interview results or why a candidate was not called. The Assam reservation policy, as adopted by the university, applies. Keep checking the university website for changes.
This is a two-part process: first the online form, then the hard copy. Keep your category certificate, if you claim any, and the NOC, if you are employed, ready before you start.
If you want to apply for more than one post, you must send separate applications with separate fees for each. Candidates from SC, ST(P), ST(H), OBC, MOBC and PWD groups must attach certificates issued by the competent authority as per Government of Assam norms. Applications received after the last date will be rejected.
One special note: candidates who applied earlier for Assistant Professor in Botany under Advt. No. BU/E&A Sec./Advt./T/01/2022/1756 dated 27/06/2022 or BU/E&A Sec./Advt./T/02/2023/2553 dated 15/03/2023 need not apply again through the Samarth Portal.
