Other changes: the degree list for Deputy and Assistant Town Planner now includes M.Plan and B.Plan, along with M.Arch./M.E.(Civil)/B.Arch./B.E.(Civil); the PG Degree/Diploma in City/Town/Regional Planning or Institute of Town Planners membership requirement is unchanged. The age is now reckoned as on 30 November 2026. PwBD reserved posts stay as per PRO/739 (1 for Deputy Town Planner, 2 for Assistant Town Planner). The other cadres of PRO/739 are not touched by this corrigendum.

SMC’s appointing authority fixes the selection criteria and decides whether candidates take a written test, practical test or oral interview; the final waiting list is prepared on that basis. Driver candidates must pass a compulsory driving test. Call letters are put on the SMC website and sent by SMS.

Note for SMC Internal Candidates: Current trainees and regular employees of SMC must also apply online. After submitting the online application, they must forward a hard copy with salary slip through proper channel to the Central Recruitment Department within 7 working days after the last date.
