Every post needs a graduation in any discipline from a university recognised by the Government of India, government bodies or AICTE. Experience and certifications are where the posts differ. If you are a graduate looking for government jobs in finance, find your row below.
| Post | Mandatory Certification | Minimum Experience |
|---|---|---|
| Group Head | None listed as mandatory | 12 years as Relationship Manager in wealth management, investment advisory or portfolio management, with at least 5 years as Team Lead for Relationship Managers |
| Head Investment | Any one of NISM V A, NISM V D, NISM XIII or NISM Series XX-I-A | 10 years in direct investment roles, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role |

| Senior Relationship Manager | NISM V A or NISM V D, and/or IRDA IC38 | 3 years as Relationship Manager in the same fields |
The experience must come from public, private or foreign banks, broking firms, security firms, asset management companies or the wider financial services sector. For Head Investment, the senior role means handling products such as mutual funds, SIF, AIF and PMS, research and advisory, SEBI compliance or business development.
Three kinds of experience will not be counted: experience of less than six months in any one organisation as on 1 November 2026, experience in a clerical cadre, and teaching and training experience.
The Bank also lists preferred qualifications for all five posts: a 2-year full-time postgraduate degree or diploma in management, an MBA in Finance, Marketing or Banking, CFP, CFA or equivalent. For every post, the NISM and IRDA certificates that are not mandatory are also listed as preferred. The notification prints the certificate as NISM Series XXI-A in some rows and XX-I-A in others, so check the exact name on yours.
You must also be an Indian citizen, or fall in the other categories the notification lists, such as a subject of Nepal or Bhutan. Those candidates need a certificate of eligibility from the Government of India.
Age is counted as on 1 November 2026.

|---|---|
| Group Head and Head Investment | 35 to 50 years |
| Territory Head | 28 to 42 years |
| Investment Product Manager | 26 to 45 years |

Not sure if you meet the age criteria? Use our free Age Calculator for Government Exams to find your exact age on the cut-off date and instantly check your eligibility — including any age relaxation you qualify for. →
Relaxation applies only to posts where reservation seats exist in the table above. The Bank also says there is no reservation for ex-servicemen in the officers’ cadre. OBC candidates who are in the creamy layer, or whose caste is not in the Central List, get no OBC reservation or relaxation and must apply as General.
The notification gives no pay scale and no CTC figure. It says the remuneration will be offered based on your qualification, experience, overall suitability, your last drawn salary and the market benchmark for the position. The posts are designated Officer on Contractual Basis (OCB1 to OCB4), under the titles Assistant Vice President II, Assistant Vice President I and Deputy Manager.
The contract is for an initial 5 years from your joining date. The Bank can renew it for a maximum of 5 more years if your performance is satisfactory, at its discretion. The engagement is valid only until age 60 or the end of the contract, whichever comes first.
| Stage | Detail |
|---|---|
| Application scrutiny | Shortlisting on qualification, experience, domain expertise and suitability |
| Online test | Only if the Bank conducts one |
| Psychometric or other test | Only if the Bank conducts one |
| Personal Interview | Minimum qualifying marks 60% for General and EWS, 55% for other reserved categories |
The Bank has not given an exam pattern, syllabus or marking scheme, and it says it can add, change or cancel any selection stage. Meeting the eligibility does not guarantee an interview call, and the shortlisting criteria are kept confidential. Interview marks below the minimum for your category mean you are left out of the merit list, and your online test marks are then ignored. If two candidates tie on the cut-off mark, the older candidate ranks higher. Our preparation strategy page has general interview tips.
