The National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) has released Recruitment Notice No. 08/2026 for 25 Senior Associate posts at its head office in New Delhi. The posts are in Technical (Civil), Human Resources, Legal and Information Technology. NHIDCL is a central PSU job employer under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, and this is a chance to work on highway projects in the North-East, hilly states and border areas.
Please read one thing before you get excited. This is a contractual consultancy engagement, not a regular job, and every candidate needs at least two years (730 days) of experience in the National Highways sector. NHIDCL may increase or decrease the number of vacancies depending on its requirements. The notice does not give a category-wise split (UR, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, PwBD) for these seats, so do not assume any particular reservation until NHIDCL says something on its website.

All degrees must be from a recognised University or Institute, and the qualification must be recognised by AICTE, UGC or the State Technical Boards. For the Technical post, a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management or an allied subject gets preference, but it is not compulsory. Holders of a civil engineering degree should apply for the Technical post.
For the IT post, the B.E. or B.Tech. branches are Computer Science, IT, Networks, or Electronics and Communication. The M.Tech. options are Cyber Security or Network Management. Law graduates and computer and IT candidates should check their exact degree name against this list.

The rule that decides everything: only candidates with at least two years (730 days) of relevant post-qualification experience in the National Highways Sector can apply. This includes work with NHAI, NHIDCL and the National Highways wings of State PWDs. You must give documentary proof showing the organisation and the period of your service. This applies to all four posts, including HR, Legal and IT.

The notice states no minimum age and no age relaxation for any category. Treat 45 as the ceiling and count your age on 4 November 2026, not on the day you apply.
The fee depends on your post-qualification experience, as shown in Annexure I of the notice.

Note on the pay figures: the notice gives two ranges. Section E says Rs 80,000 to Rs 1,50,000 per month, but the Annexure I slabs above run from Rs 80,000 to Rs 1,22,000. The notice says the exact fee is decided and approved by the Competent Authority, so confirm the top figure with NHIDCL before you plan around it.
Experience is weighted. Years in the National Highways sector count fully (factor 1.00), and years in any other government body, PSU or private organisation count at factor 0.65. So 3 years in highways plus 3 years elsewhere is counted as 4.95 years, which gives Rs 92,000. This weighting is only for deciding the fee; it does not change the 730-day eligibility rule.
