Experience

Candidates need one of the following: At least 15 years of experience as Assistant Professor (Sr. Scale)/Assistant Professor with eight (8) years in the Associate Professor grade, with experience in educational administration. Comparable experience in research establishment and/or other institutions of higher education. 15 years of administrative experience, of which 8 years as Deputy Registrar or an equivalent post.

Required Skills

Knowledge of Tamil to the extent of carrying official correspondence and drafting reports.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should have completed 50 years but be below 57 years at the time of notification. The age of superannuation for the post is 60 years. A Masters Degree with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven (7) point scale. Candidates need one of the following: At least 15 years of experience as Assistant Professor (Sr. Scale)/Assistant Professor with eight (8) years in the Associate Professor grade, with experience in educational administration. Comparable experience in research establishment and/or other institutions of higher education. 15 years of administrative experience, of which 8 years as Deputy Registrar or an equivalent post. Relaxation in Marks SC/ST category: 5% relaxation, from 55% to 50% of the marks at the Masters degree level. Ph.D. degree holders who passed their Masters Degree prior to 19th September, 1991: 5% relaxation, from 55% to 50% of the marks. Existing incumbents already in the University system: the minimum requirement of 55% shall not be insisted upon. Knowledge of Tamil to the extent of carrying official correspondence and drafting reports.

Enclose the Demand Draft for the fee. Prepare eight (08) copies of the application, with copies of the particulars listed below. Address the application to the Registrar (by designation only), Bharathiar University, Coimbatore – 641 046, so that it reaches the University by the closing date and time. Candidates in service must submit the form through proper channel. In case of delay, they may send seven (07) advance copies to the Registrar.

Pay it by Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Registrar, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. The fee is non-refundable under any circumstances. Selection Process The selection procedure will be as per the decision of the Syndicate of Bharathiar University. Applicants should be prepared to come for an interview at their own cost. Anyone who attempts to canvas or influence their candidature in any manner will be disqualified. The Syndicate reserves the right to fill or not to fill up the post without assigning any reason. Service Conditions The appointment is on tenure basis for 3 years in the first instance, or until the superannuation age, whichever is earlier. The selected candidate must join duty immediately and enter into an agreement with the University, in accordance with its laws, on joining the post. Pay protection in any manner will not be guaranteed to candidates in service on selection. Applications received after the last date, and those with incomplete particulars, will be summarily rejected. The University will not be responsible for any delay in receipt due to a public holiday, strike or any other unforeseen reason, and such applications are liable to be rejected. Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should have completed 52 years but not exceed 57 years on the date of notification of advertisement. A candidate must meet either Option A or Option B. Option A: Eminent scholar A Ph.D. degree in the concerned / allied / relevant discipline. Published work of high quality and active engagement in research, with evidence of published work. A minimum of 10 research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals. A total research score of 120 as per the criteria given in Appendix, Table 2. A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in a university or college as Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Professor, and / or research experience at equivalent level at the University / National Level Institutions. Evidence of having successfully guided a doctoral candidate. Option B: Outstanding professional A Ph.D. degree in the relevant / allied / applied disciplines, from any academic institutions (not included in Option A) / industry. A significant contribution to knowledge in the concerned / allied / relevant discipline, supported by documentary evidence. Ten years experience. Language Requirement Candidates need knowledge of Tamil to the extent of carrying official correspondence and drafting reports. Masters Level Marks and Relaxations SC/ST candidates get a relaxation of 5%, from 55% to 50% of the marks at the Master level. Ph.D. degree holders who passed their Master Degree prior to 19 September 1991 get a relaxation of 5%, from 55% to 50% of the marks. Where the grading system is followed, B in the seven point scale with UGC letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E and F is regarded as equivalent to 55%. For existing incumbents already in the University System, the 55% requirement at Masters level will not be insisted upon for Principals, Professors, Associate Professors, Registrars, Deputy Registrars, Librarians, Deputy Librarians and Director/Deputy Directors of Physical Education. Their minimum requirement is at least 50% of marks at Masters level. The 55% requirement will be insisted upon for those entering the system from outside and those at the entry point of Assistant Professor, Assistant Registrars, Assistant Librarians and Assistant Directors of Physical Education.
