Job Description

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities Laboratory Operations
  • Plan, supervise, and control day-to-day laboratory activities.
  • Ensure timely testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
  • Monitor laboratory adherence to approved testing methods, SOPs, and quality standards.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of test results.
Quality Control & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review test reports and analyze trends to identify quality issues.
  • Investigate non-conformities and recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Support internal and external quality audits.
Equipment Management
  • Ensure proper operation, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory instruments.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance and annual calibration schedules.
  • Maintain records of calibration and equipment performance.
Team Management
  • Supervise laboratory technicians and chemists.
  • Allocate work, monitor performance, and provide technical guidance.
  • Conduct training programs on testing methods, safety practices, and quality procedures.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain laboratory records, logs, reports, and quality documentation.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly laboratory performance reports.
  • Ensure traceability of test samples and records.
Safety & Housekeeping
  • Implement laboratory safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure proper handling and disposal of chemicals and test materials.
  • Maintain housekeeping and safe working conditions within the laboratory.

Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications
  • B.Sc./M.Sc. in Chemistry, Material Science, Physics, or related discipline.
  • Diploma/B.Tech/M.Tech in relevant Engineering discipline (for industrial laboratories).
