The Reserve Bank of India, Mumbai Office is preparing a panel of 22 Pharmacists for its dispensaries in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. This is a contract job with a fixed hourly payment of Rs 600 per hour, not a regular post. If you hold a pharmacy qualification and already work in a hospital or clinic, this is a good chance to add a central bank name to your experience. Check more banking jobs here as well.
Applications must reach the RBI office in a sealed cover by 5:00 PM on 3 November 2026, and you must also fill an online form. Both parts are compulsory. Read this guide fully, because an application with a missing paper or wrong format is summarily rejected. GovtJobsAlert.in has kept every important rule in the tables below, and you can see more Maharashtra government jobs too.

The Bank will make a panel and call people from it only when work arises. A place on the panel is not a job guarantee, so keep this in mind before you leave any other work.
All 22 seats are for one post, Pharmacist. The category split is given below.
| Category | Vacancies |
|---|---|
| SC | 1 |
| ST | 1 |
| OBC | 5 |
| EWS | 2 |
| GEN / UR | 13 |
| Total | 22 |
The notice says the EWS seats are tentative and depend on further directions of the Government of India and the outcome of any court case. The notice does not mention any seats for PwBD or ex-servicemen.
OBC has the biggest reserved share with 5 of the 22 posts, and 13 are for General (Unreserved) candidates. If you claim any reservation, your certificate must be in the right format, so read the conditions table further down before you apply.

| Higher route | B.Pharm (Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy) holders can also apply |

| Computers | Basic working knowledge of computers |
Experience with public sector banks, PSUs or government organisations will be given preference. If you are a diploma holder looking for government jobs, note that the council registration is not optional, so get your certificate copy ready now.
The notice does not state any minimum or maximum age and does not mention age relaxation. The application form only asks for your date of birth and your age as on 1 October 2026. Fill it carefully and attach your age proof.
| Component | Detail |
|---|---|
| Rate | Rs 600 per hour |
| Daily limit | Maximum 5 hours a day, not more than Rs 3,000 a day |
| Period | Maximum 240 days at a stretch |
| Extras | No additional pay, allowance or perks |
This is a contract panel and not a permanent post. The notice says the work does not give any right to a temporary or permanent post, and you will not get the facilities of regular Bank employees. The Bank can also stop your services at any time without notice or reason. At Rs 600 an hour and the 5-hour limit, the most you can be paid in one day is Rs 3,000, which is the daily cap in the notice. The notice gives no monthly figure, so do not plan your budget around a fixed monthly income. Your earning depends on how many hours the Bank actually engages you.
The Bank decides which dispensary you will work in, in Mumbai or Navi Mumbai, and its decision is final. You may be attached to more than one dispensary, and you may be asked to work in any of them during its working hours.
| Stage | Detail |
|---|---|
| Shortlisting | Based on overall educational qualifications (PG, Degree or Diploma), distance of your home from the Bank’s dispensaries, and experience with PSBs, PSUs, government organisations or RBI |
| Interview | For shortlisted candidates |
| Medical and documents | Medical examination and document verification before engagement |
| Panel | Engagement as and when needed, if medically fit and you accept the Terms and Code of Conduct |
| Agreement | Signing an agreement with the Bank, including a Non-Disclosure clause |
The Bank may raise the minimum eligibility standards to limit the number of people called for interview. Meeting the eligibility does not give you the right to be called. No TA, HA or any other allowance is paid for attending the interview, and the Bank will not answer letters about its decisions on this.
| Condition | What it means for you |
|---|---|
| Wrong format or missing copies | Applications not in the Annex-I format or without the required certificate copies will be summarily rejected |
| Incomplete form | An incomplete application will be rejected and no correspondence will be entertained |
| False information | If any detail is found false or you are not eligible at any stage, your candidature or appointment can be cancelled or terminated without notice or compensation |
| Caste certificate | SC, ST and OBC claims need the Government of India format only, and a certificate with any variation in the caste name will not be accepted |
| OBC Non-Creamy Layer | OBC candidates in the Creamy Layer are not entitled to OBC reservation, and the certificate must be issued after 1 April 2026 with the Non-Creamy Layer clause |
| OBC state | The OBC claim is judged by the State your father originally belongs to |
| EWS | You need an Income and Asset Certificate for FY 2025-26, valid for 2026-27, and the appointment stays provisional until it is verified |
| Code of Conduct | The contract can be ended for arrest on a criminal charge, breach of the Code, negligence, inefficiency or misconduct |
The Code of Conduct (Annex-II) also requires strict secrecy about the Bank’s and its customers’ affairs, and asks you to stay away from active politics, trade unions, strikes, press writing about RBI affairs without written permission, and gifts from any employee. Absence needs the Bank’s permission, and any alternate arrangement for your absence is limited to five days at a time. Outsourcing your service to the Bank is also prohibited. Read it once fully before you apply.

| Category | Fee |
|---|---|
| All candidates | No fee is mentioned in the notice |
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | Copy or print the Annex-I application form from the notification PDF and fill it in the prescribed format only |
| 2 | Paste a recent self-attested passport size photograph and sign the declaration |
| 3 | Attach self-attested copies of your age proof, qualification certificates, experience certificate, caste certificate if claiming reservation, and Maharashtra State Pharmacy Council registration |
| 4 | Put everything in a sealed cover and write on it: Application for the post of Pharmacist on contract basis with fixed hourly remuneration, Mumbai |
| 5 | Send it to the Regional Director, Human Resource Management Department, Recruitment Section, Reserve Bank of India, Mumbai Regional Office, Shahid Bhagat Singh Road, Fort, Mumbai – 400001, to reach by 5:00 PM on 3 November 2026 |
| 6 | Also fill the mandatory online form (link in Essential Links below), because the notice says you must ensure the details are filled there too |
If you work as a Pharmacist anywhere now, the form asks you to write the details and working hours of that institution. Keep a photocopy of your full cover for your own record.
A small tip from us: lay out every paper on a table and tick it against the list above before you seal the cover. Your photograph, signature, council registration copy and experience certificate are the items easiest to miss, and the notice says an application without the required copies will be rejected. Self-attest each copy, and make sure the caste name on your certificate is spelt exactly as in the Central Government list.
If you have the Diploma or B.Pharm, the council registration and two years of experience, this is worth your time, even though it is a contract panel. Experience with PSBs, PSUs, government organisations or RBI counts in shortlisting, so describe it clearly in the form, and use the last box for any other point you want the Bank to consider. Prepare your papers this week and post the cover early, so it reaches the Mumbai office by 3 November 2026.
