Good news if you have not applied yet. The Local Self Government Department, Rajasthan has issued Shuddhi Patra (Corrigendum) No. 01/2026 dated 24 September 2026, extending the last date for the online Contractual Safai Karamchari application from 28 September 2026 to 13 October 2026. The corrigendum states that all other conditions of Advertisement No. 01/2026 remain unchanged, so the one-year experience rule, the one-urban-body limit and the OTR fee all still apply. This is one of the biggest recruitment drives Rajasthan has announced this year. The Local Self Government Department (स्वायत्त शासन विभाग), Government of Rajasthan has issued Direct Recruitment Advertisement No. 01/2026 for 24,752 posts of Contractual Safai Karamchari across 183 urban local bodies of the state. The best part for many candidates — no educational qualification is required at all, and there is no written examination. If you are searching for government jobs in Rajasthan with a simple entry route, read this carefully.
Online applications open on 15 August 2026 and close on 28 September 2026 13 October 2026 (Extended). Selection is done through a computerised lottery run by the state’s IT department, category-wise, for each urban body separately. But there is one condition you cannot skip — you must be a native resident of Rajasthan and must hold one year of sanitation work experience in any urban local body of the state. GovtJobsAlert.in has explained every rule below in plain language, so read to the end before applying.
The Directorate of Local Bodies (DLB), Jaipur runs this recruitment to strengthen the Swachh Bharat Mission and sanitation arrangements in Rajasthan’s cities and towns. One thing must be clear from the start: these are purely contract-based posts engaged under the Rajasthan Contractual Hiring to Civil Posts Rules, 2022 — they are not regular civil posts, and the pay is a fixed monthly honorarium rather than a pay matrix level.
Since there is no minimum education bar here, this drive is worth sharing with anyone in your family or neighbourhood who is currently hunting for 10th pass level government jobs but has been held back by certificates.
The 24,752 posts are split between 174 urban local bodies in the Non-Scheduled Area (24,277 posts) and 9 urban local bodies in the Scheduled Area (475 posts). Below are the urban bodies with the largest number of posts. The complete list of all 183 bodies is inside the official notification PDF.
| Urban Local Body | Vacancies |
|---|---|
| Jaipur | 4,811 |
| Kota | 1,357 |
| Bikaner | 1,084 |
| Jodhpur | 890 |
| Sikar | 480 |
| Bharatpur | 450 |
| Alwar | 426 |
| Bhiwadi | 350 |
| Dhaulpur | 340 |
| Hindaun | 328 |
| Churu | 320 |
| Sri Ganganagar | 318 |
| Udaipur | 300 |
| Sujangarh | 300 |
| Bhilwara | 296 |
The category-wise (श्रेणीवार) classification is not printed inside this notification. The department has published the body-wise and category-wise vacancy detail separately on its official portal, and candidates are told to check that classification before applying, because reservation is admissible as per rules. Reservation for women, ex-servicemen, outstanding sportspersons and Divyangjan is horizontal, meaning it is adjusted inside your own vertical category.
This is the shortest eligibility list you will read all year.
The experience rule is where most applications will be decided, so read it twice.
A serious warning is printed in the notification: if an experience certificate is found to be fake, strict legal action is taken against the applicant, the issuing institution and the issuing officer.
The advertisement lists these disqualifications. Married candidates must also have their marriage registered, as state service rules require.

Two rules govern how these add up. The relaxations listed above are non-cumulative — you may claim the benefit of only one provision, never two joined together. The one exception is the 5-year relaxation for benchmark-disabled candidates, which the notification states is given over and above the relaxation due for your category, under the Rajasthan Divyangjan Adhikar Niyam, 2018. Separately, since the retirement age in Rajasthan government service is 60 years, your age cannot exceed 60 years on the date of appointment.
Note carefully that 1 January 2027 is only the age-reckoning date — it is not the application deadline. Under the rules, age is counted from the first day of January following the last date of application.
The notification states the remuneration in a single clear line, so there is no guesswork here.
Because the engagement is contractual, the notification does not mention any pay matrix level, grade pay, basic pay figure or allowances such as DA, HRA or TA. The ₹7,410 per month honorarium is the only pay figure printed in the entire 23-page document.
Be realistic about what you are applying for. This is a contract post with a fixed honorarium, and the competent authority has reserved the right to increase, decrease, cancel or withdraw these posts and to amend the terms and conditions at any time. That said, for thousands of families already doing sanitation work informally, a formal engagement with the urban local body is a meaningful step forward.
There is no written examination in this recruitment. Selection is made by a computerised lottery, and candidates finally selected must then furnish a medical fitness certificate and clear police verification.
The lottery is run through online software developed by the Department of Information Technology and Communication, Government of Rajasthan, and is conducted category-wise for each urban local body. In the first round, only candidates holding one year of experience in that same urban local body are included in the lottery.
If posts remain vacant after the first round, applicants holding one year of sanitation experience in another urban local body of the same district are then included for the remaining posts.
If posts are still left, applicants holding one year of sanitation experience in any urban local body of the state are included for the balance posts.
Candidates in whose favour the Rajasthan High Court has passed an order in earlier Safai Karamchari recruitments directing priority or regularisation will be given priority in the urban body where they apply. Information about the lottery process is announced separately on the department portal and the SSO portal, so keep checking our results page too.
Applications are accepted online only — offline forms are not accepted in any circumstance. Keep your Aadhaar or Jan Aadhaar, native-resident certificate, category certificate and the one-year experience certificate ready before you begin.
The single biggest mistake to avoid: you may apply to only one urban local body out of the 183 advertised. If you apply to more than one, all your applications will be cancelled. Choose your body carefully, keeping the lottery priority tiers in mind.
| Event | Date |

| Notification Date | 27 July 2026 |
| Application Start Date | 15 August 2026 |
| Last Date to Apply | 28 September 2026 13 October 2026 (Extended) |

| Age Reckoned As On | 1 January 2027 |

All your certificates must be issued before the last date of the online application. A certificate dated after the last date will not give you the benefit of category or experience.
Rajasthan charges a One Time Registration (OTR) fee instead of a separate application fee for each recruitment.
| Category | Fee |
|---|---|
| General / Unreserved | ₹600 |
| Reserved Category (SC, ST, OBC, MBC & EWS) | ₹400 |
| Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) | ₹400 |
The fee is paid online after logging in with your SSO ID and opening the One Time Registration option, through a designated e-Mitra kiosk or Jan Suvidha Kendra. Make sure the OTR fee is paid before the last date of application, otherwise the responsibility is yours. Good news if you have applied for a Rajasthan recruitment before — the notification states that candidates who have already deposited the One Time Registration fee earlier do not have to pay it again. No category gets a full fee waiver in this recruitment, and the notification does not provide any application correction fee facility — OTR profile details cannot be modified once completed.
With 24,752 posts on offer and no exam to clear, this is genuinely one of the easiest government recruitment routes open in Rajasthan right now. Start arranging your experience certificate immediately, because it is only valid if issued after 1 August 2026 — that single paper will decide your application. Apply well before 28 September 2026 13 October 2026 (Extended) and pick your urban local body wisely. Keep visiting GovtJobsAlert.in for more Rajasthan government job updates.
