The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Wardha has invited applications for Legal Volunteers (Para Legal Volunteers) in Wardha district, Maharashtra. The notice gives a probable number of 100 volunteers, and 10th pass is the minimum qualification. Teachers, anganwadi workers, law students and many others can apply.
Please read one line of the notice before anything else: the Legal Volunteer appointment is not a job of any kind. It is voluntary social work under the NALSA scheme, with an honorarium only when work is assigned. The form must reach the DLSA office by 6 November 2026, 5:00 PM. Read this guide fully, then keep checking GovtJobsAlert.in for more updates.

The scheme is the revised Legal Volunteer / Adhikar Mitra scheme of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), run under the guidance of the Maharashtra State Legal Services Authority, Mumbai. The notice is dated 29 October 2026.
The Authority has asked that the notice be displayed on the notice boards of the District and Sessions Court, the Collector office, the Zilla Parishad office, and the Tahsil office and Nagar Parishad in Wardha, and on the district court website. If you live in a village, you can also read the printed notice at any of these offices, which is handy if you want to see the QR code in person.
| Post | Probable Number | Work Area |
|---|---|---|
| Legal Volunteer | 100 | Wardha district |
The notice calls 100 a probable number, not a fixed count. It gives no taluka-wise or category-wise split, so do not rely on any seat figure you may see elsewhere. Because the number is only probable, the final number of volunteers may be different, and the notice does not say that every applicant will be taken.
The applicant must be at least 10th (Matric) pass. Attach your educational documents to the application. Higher qualifications are not required by the notice. If you passed your 10th long ago, keep your marksheet or passing certificate safe, because the notice specifically asks you to attach your educational documents.
The notice lists eight groups of people. You can apply if you belong to any one of them. The list is wide on purpose, so a homemaker who is part of a self-help group, a retired teacher or a college student can all apply.
| No. | Eligible Group |
|---|---|
| 1 | Teachers, including retired teachers |
| 2 | M.S.W. students and teachers |
| 3 | Anganwadi sevikas and workers |
| 4 | Students and law students, until enrolled as advocates |
| 5 | Members of non-political, service-oriented NGOs and clubs |
| 6 | Members of women’s groups, maitri sanghs and self-help groups, including weaker sections |
| 7 | Educated prisoners of good behaviour serving long-term sentences |
| 8 | Persons working in any other field |
Law students should note the words in bracket: you remain eligible only until you are enrolled as an advocate. A person who has already enrolled as an advocate falls outside group 4.
The notification does not state any age limit. The application form only asks for your date of birth and age. Check the notice again before applying if you are unsure.
Legal Volunteers are paid an honorarium (मानधन) as per the revised NALSA Legal Volunteer scheme, and only as and when work is assigned to them. The notice does not state an amount. It also says clearly that no salary, remuneration or wages will be given apart from the honorarium.
Think of this as a way to serve your community and learn how legal aid works. It is not a route to a regular income or a permanent post. Do not leave a paying job or give up other plans in the hope of a monthly payment from this scheme. Payment depends on work being assigned, and the notice gives no assurance of how often that will happen.
| Condition | What It Means for You |
|---|---|
| Not a job | Appointment as Legal Volunteer is not a job of any kind |
| Late applications | Applications received after the last date and time will not be considered |
| No other pay | Nothing except the honorarium is payable, no salary, remuneration or wages |
| Not an advocate | You declare that a Legal Volunteer is not a legal professional or advocate |
| Criminal cases | You declare that no criminal case is registered or pending against you |
| Political links | You declare no direct or indirect link with any political party |
| Rules | You must follow the instructions, rules and code of conduct of the Legal Services Authority |
The declarations are not a formality. You sign them yourself, and a false statement about a criminal case or a political link can only hurt your application. If you are unsure whether a pending matter counts, ask the DLSA office before you sign, because the declaration covers both registered and pending criminal cases.
The notification does not describe any written test, interview or other selection method. It only invites applications on the prescribed form. Watch the DLSA Wardha notice boards and the district court website for any further instruction. Do not assume there will be an exam, and do not pay anyone who claims to arrange a selection for you.
Keep the following ready: the filled form with a photograph, educational and experience certificates, Aadhaar card, passport photo, the declaration certificates and one extra passport-size photo.
| Step | Action |

The office is the Vidhi Seva Sadan, District and Sessions Court, Civil Line, Sevagram Road, Wardha. The notice asks for both the offline submission and the QR-code form, so complete both. Applications that come after the last date and time will not be considered in any way, so aim to submit a day early. Write clearly, because a form that cannot be read cannot be processed. The QR code opens the DLSA Wardha Google Form, linked under Important Links.
