Good news for nuclear medicine professionals. All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Nagpur has announced 6 contract vacancies in its Department of Nuclear Medicine — Technologist, Technical Officer and Senior Technical Officer, two seats each. The monthly pay is fixed and attractive, from ₹56,640 to ₹1,08,320. If you have been searching for medical and healthcare government jobs that reward a specialised nuclear medicine degree, this one deserves your attention.
The notification is dated 1 October 2026 and the last date is 12 October 2026 (till 5:00 PM), so you have only about ten days. You apply in the prescribed format and send it through the official Google Form. B.Sc holders can aim for Technologist, while M.Sc holders with experience can target the two officer posts. Read this guide from GovtJobsAlert.in fully before you pay the fee.
AIIMS Nagpur is an apex healthcare institute set up by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana. These posts are on a purely contractual basis for 11 months, and they are open to Indian nationals.

| Department | Nuclear Medicine |
| Posts | Technologist, Technical Officer, Senior Technical Officer |
| Total Vacancies | 6 (UR-02 per post) |
| Salary | ₹56,640 to ₹1,08,320 per month (consolidated) |

| Maximum Age | 40 years |
| Job Location | AIIMS Nagpur, Maharashtra |

| Post | Category-wise Vacancies | Total |
|---|---|---|
| Technologist (Nuclear Medicine) | UR 2 | 2 |
| Technical Officer (Nuclear Medicine) | UR 2 | 2 |
| Senior Technical Officer (Nuclear Medicine) | UR 2 | 2 |
Every seat is listed as UR (Unreserved). The notice also says reservation follows the MoHFW roster and Government of India rules, and that the vacancies are provisional — AIIMS Nagpur can vary the number, fill fewer posts, or even cancel the advertisement without prior notice.
With only two seats per post, competition will be tight, and the shortlisting stage will decide who even reaches the interview. Apply for the post your qualification and experience actually match rather than the one with the biggest salary. A Technologist application from a strong B.Sc candidate has a far better chance than a Senior Technical Officer application that falls a year short on experience, because the scrutiny committee checks every certificate before the interview.
| Post | Essential Requirement |
|---|---|
| Technologist | B.Sc in Nuclear Medicine Technology, OR B.Sc in Life Sciences with a PG Diploma in Nuclear Medicine (DMRIT, DNMT or DFIT) |
| Technical Officer | M.Sc Nuclear Medicine Technology AND 5 years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (B.Sc Nuclear Medicine or equivalent + 5 years) |
| Senior Technical Officer | M.Sc Nuclear Medicine Technology with 60% marks, OR M.Sc with minimum 60% plus a PG Diploma in Nuclear Medicine (DMRIT, DNMT or DFIT) with minimum 50% — AND 4 years’ experience |
| Post | Desirable (gives you an edge) |
|---|---|
| Technologist | Experience in a full-fledged Nuclear Medicine Centre with PET/CT, Gamma camera/SPECT/CT and radionuclide therapy |
| Technical Officer | RSO Level II certification; experience in such a full-fledged centre |
| Senior Technical Officer | RSO Level II certification; PhD in Nuclear Medicine specialty; experience in such a full-fledged centre is preferred |
Notice the “OR” routes carefully. A plain B.Sc in Life Sciences does not qualify on its own for Technologist — you need the PG diploma with it. For Senior Technical Officer, the 60% and 50% marks are part of the essential rule, not a preference. All qualifications are counted as on the last date, 12 October 2026. If your degree is a post graduate qualification in this field, the two officer posts pay far more, so check whether your experience years fit.
Your experience must be proven, not just claimed. Keep experience certificates that show your post, the department and the exact dates of joining and leaving. If you have worked at a centre with PET/CT, SPECT/CT or radionuclide therapy, make sure the certificate says so, because the notification lists that exposure as a desirable point for all three posts and it can help you at shortlisting.
| Category | Maximum Age |
|---|---|
| All three posts | Up to 40 years |

Age means your completed age in years as on 12 October 2026, the last date of submission. The notification does not print a separate age-relaxation table, so do not assume extra years — check your exact age before you pay.
| Post | Monthly Remuneration |
|---|---|
| Technologist (Nuclear Medicine) | ₹56,640 (consolidated) |
| Technical Officer (Nuclear Medicine) | ₹89,760 (consolidated) |
| Senior Technical Officer (Nuclear Medicine) | ₹1,08,320 (consolidated) |
The pay is a fixed consolidated amount with no enhancement during the contract period.
Be clear about what this salary does not include. You will not be entitled to Provident Fund, Pension, Gratuity, Medical Attendance Treatment, Seniority or Promotion, and no extra allowance is paid for additional duties. Paid leave may be allowed: 1 day per completed month. For a contract job, though, the amount is strong, especially at the officer levels.
The contract runs for 11 months, or until an alternate or regular arrangement is made, whichever is earlier. It may be extended depending on the institute’s needs and your performance. The post itself cannot be regularised at any stage.

| Category | Fee |
|---|---|
| General / OBC / EWS | ₹1,000 (non-refundable) |
| SC / ST / PwBD | Exempted |
Pay through NEFT to the AIIMS Nagpur account at Bank of Baroda, AIIMS Nagpur Campus branch (account name AIIMS EXAM FEE). The full account details are in the notification PDF. Enclose the receipt with your application and bring it to the interview too.
Because the fee is non-refundable, confirm your eligibility for the exact post before you pay. If you are applying from the SC, ST or PwBD category, keep your category certificate ready, since the committee checks category during document verification.
