RWF is a unit of the Ministry of Railways. These posts are filled by contract, not by regular recruitment. The Personnel Department issued two notifications under the same number, one for each department. Both are linked in Essential Links below.

The notifications give no category-wise reservation split of these posts.
Only retired Railway non-gazetted staff are eligible. The notification does not list any separate degree or diploma, but the form asks for your educational qualification. What matters most is the pay level you held at retirement. Work out first whether it is the same as the post, or up to three levels higher, before you spend time on the form.

Clause 1.1 states no as-on date for the age limit and grants no age relaxation. Extension of an engagement is possible only till you reach 65 years.

The notification states no rupee amount. Pay is worked out by a fixed formula, so your figure depends on your own pay at retirement and your basic pension. The amount is fixed once and stays unchanged for the whole contract.

Re-engaged staff cannot use financial or D&AR powers and cannot issue any safety certificate. They may still give suggestions to regular staff or officers. Working hours are as RWF prescribes from time to time, and an agreement must be signed.
The contract runs up to 15.10.2028 or till further orders, whichever is earlier. With satisfactory work it can be extended by one year, or while the scheme continues, or till age 65, whichever is earlier. RWF can end the contract at any time for unsatisfactory work or conduct, or for administrative reasons.

Keep the interview in mind: give a valid e-mail ID, mobile number and present address on the form, because RWF will not be responsible for any delay due to miscommunication. Bring all original certificates when called. False or incorrect information can lead to rejection, and a selection later found not valid for any reason can mean immediate termination. RWF decides on eligibility, acceptance, rejection and mode of selection, and can change the stages or cancel the process without giving a reason.

The envelope must name the post you are applying for, so pick the department and post that match the pay level you held at retirement. Self-attest every copy. Incomplete forms are summarily rejected, so check the Annexure’s document checklist before sending.
