The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has released Advertisement No. 23-Exam/2026 for 412 posts in the Directorate General of Youth Welfare and Provincial Guard Dal, U.P. The Regional Youth Welfare & Provincial Development Team Officer post has 368 openings at Pay Level 5, and the Physical Training Instructor post has 44 openings at Pay Level 6. These are regular Uttar Pradesh government jobs, and the Officer post needs only a graduation degree.
The online window runs from 16 October 2026 to 6 November 2026. Only candidates who appeared in PET-2025 and hold its score card can apply, and you log in with your PET-2025 registration number. Both Special Selection rows have no Unreserved or EWS seat. If you are UR or EWS, only the General rows are open to you. The General PTI row also has no ST seat.

The notification warns that the total and category-wise numbers may go up or down under the latest reservation rules. Women’s reservation is also subject to the final decision in Special Appeal (D) No. 475/2019.
So which post should you pick? If you hold only a graduation degree, the Officer post is the one open to you. If you also have a B.P.Ed. or D.P.Ed., you can select both posts in the same form. You give your final post preference only at record verification, so selecting both now keeps your options open without any extra effort.

If you are a graduate looking for a state government job, the Officer post is your easiest route in. You must hold the qualification by 6 November 2026. You must also have appeared in UPSSSC PET-2025 and been issued its score card. Without that, you cannot apply at all.

The Officer posts are permanent. The PTI posts are listed as permanent and temporary.
The PTI post starts one full pay level higher, which is a real difference over a whole career. That is why physical education graduates should not skip it. The Officer post, on the other hand, has more than eight times as many seats.
The notification says the basis of selection is the written exam. It cites UP’s 2017 rules that discontinued interviews for these lower-level posts.

Your form submits only after the bank reconciles your fee, and that must happen by 13 November 2026. Until then you cannot take a printout. Till that date you can correct your address, EWS and horizontal category, qualification details and marital status from the dashboard. After that, no change is possible at any stage. Keep your caste, EWS, Ex-Servicemen and NOC certificates ready, since a missing certificate can cost you the claim.
Most rejections happen because of these rules, not because of low marks. Read every row once, slowly, before you pay the fee.

The commission has not given the Mains date yet. It says the date will be shared in due time, and it does not write to candidates personally. Everything is posted on its website, so check it every week. Do not wait for the exam date to start studying, because a two-hour paper with negative marking rewards steady practice.

EWS is not listed separately in the fee table. Shortlisted candidates will pay a separate Mains exam fee before downloading the admit card; the amount is not given yet.
