Roles & Responsibilities
Configure, implement, and support Alation Data Catalog and Manta Data Lineage platforms.
Perform metadata ingestion, cataloging, profiling, and governance across enterprise data sources.
Configure and maintain Alation connectors, scanners, and metadata synchronization jobs.
Implement and manage automated end-to-end data lineage using Manta across databases, ETL tools, BI platforms, and cloud environments.
Develop and maintain business glossaries, data dictionaries, technical documentation, and metadata standards.
Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Stewards, Architects, and Business Teams to improve data discovery and governance.
Configure and manage roles, permissions, access controls, and data stewardship workflows in Alation.
Perform impact analysis, root cause analysis, and dependency mapping using Manta lineage.
Integrate Alation and Manta with data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, AWS, Informatica, dbt, Airflow, SQL Server, Oracle, and Hadoop.
Validate metadata quality, lineage accuracy, and governance compliance across enterprise systems.
Troubleshoot cataloging, lineage extraction, metadata ingestion, and platform performance issues.
Develop custom solutions using SQL, Python, APIs, and scripting to automate metadata and governance processes.
Support data governance, regulatory compliance, audit, and risk management initiatives.
Create dashboards, reports, and governance metrics for stakeholders and leadership teams.
Conduct user training, onboarding, and knowledge-sharing sessions on Alation and Manta usage.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, requirement gathering, solution design, testing, deployment, and production support activities.
Maintain documentation for metadata management, lineage architecture, governance processes, and implementation best practices.
