Make history.<br/><br/>The Role:<br/>As a Software Quality Assurance Engineer - Audio, you will work with consumer application testing expertise. You will join the team of hands-on, pro-active, self-motivated and seasoned SQA professionals. In this role, you will:<br/> - Create test plans and test cases<br/> - Efficiently execute test cases across all functional areas of our products<br/> - Review product user interface for conformity to design guidelines<br/> - Find, isolate, document, regress, and track bugs through resolution<br/> - Interpret and report testing results, and be a vocal proponent for quality in every phase of the development process<br/> - Work with Software Development Engineers to understand the overall technical architecture and how each feature is implemented<br/> <br/><br/><br/><br/><br/>Key job responsibilities<br/>Key responsibilities<br/>Own end-to-end audio QA for one or more device programs: define test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria, and drive release sign-off (Day-0, GMC, OK2SHIP).<br/>Design and execute functional, regression, and performance tests for audio features (VoIP, ASR/wake-word, ANC/passthrough, playback, echo cancellation/AEC, beamforming, spatial audio).<br/>Build and maintain automated test suites and lab pipelines; expand coverage and reduce manual effort through shift-left automation.<br/>Define and track audio quality KPIs (POLQA/MOS, FRR/FAR, ERLE, latency/jitter, loudness) and report defect-escape rate, coverage, and release risk to stakeholders.<br/>Triage, root-cause, and reproduce audio defects; partner with DSP, firmware, AFE, and platform teams to drive resolution.<br/>Own the test infrastructure and device/lab readiness (acoustic setups, rigs, calibration) needed for reliable, repeatable measurements.<br/>Represent audio quality in program reviews; surface regression and schedule risks with clear mitigation plans.<br/>Mentor junior QA engineers and raise the bar on test craft, documentation (e.g., TestRail suites), and review mechanisms.<br/>

Basic qualifications

- 6+ years of quality assurance engineering experience<br/>- 4+ years of delivering test frameworks, test tools, leading the QA projects and initiatives experience<br/>- Knowledge of QA methodology and tools, with demonstrated experience in an QAE role<br/>- Experience in manual testing<br/>- Experience in automation testing<br/>- Experience scripting or coding<br/>- Hands-on experience testing audio, DSP, or embedded/consumer-device software.<br/>- Solid understanding of digital signal processing and acoustic fundamentals.

Preferred qualifications

- 2+ years of UI Automation (preferably on mobile platforms) experience<br/>- Knowledge of at least one modern object-oriented programming language such as C++, Java, Objective C<br/>- Experience with objective audio quality tools and metrics (POLQA/PESQ, ACQUA, MOS, ERLE).<br/>- Familiarity with the hardware device lifecycle (EVT/DVT/PVT) and manufacturing release gates.<br/>- Experience testing VoIP, wake-word/ASR, ANC, or spatial/head-tracked audio.<br/>- Experience with acoustic measurement setups (HATS, anechoic/lab test rigs) and calibration.<br/><br/>Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
