Job Summary

Job Summary : We are looking for a highly motivated PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) with a strong focus on automation and database operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing PostgreSQL databases, ensuring high availability, optimizing performance, and automating routine database administration tasks to improve operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities • Administer, monitor, and maintain PostgreSQL databases across development, test, and production environments. • Implement backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery solutions. • Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize queries for maximum efficiency. • Automate database administration activities using scripting and automation tools. • Manage database upgrades, patching, security, and capacity planning. • Support high availability (HA) and failover configurations. • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to support database deployments and releases. • Develop and maintain operational runbooks, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms. • Ensure compliance with security and operational standards. Required Skills • 2 to 8 years of experience in PostgreSQL Database Administration. • Strong understanding of PostgreSQL architecture, backup/recovery, replication, and performance tuning. • Hands-on experience with automation using Python, Shell Scripting, Ansible, or similar tools. • Good knowledge of Linux/Unix administration. • Experience with database monitoring and troubleshooting. • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Preferred Skills • Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure database services. • Knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). • Exposure to container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. • Experience in database migration and cloud transformation projects. What We\'re Looking For • Passion for automation and operational excellence. • Strong troubleshooting and incident management skills. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production support environment.
