Solution Architect L1

Job Description

Support CIS pursuits by converting requirements into clear, complete and commercially usable solution inputs. The role is primarily internal and focuses on RFIs, qualification responses and small single-tower opportunities, exercising authority over the solution work products and pursuit activities assigned to the role.

• Analyse RFI, RFQ and RFP requirements and maintain compliance and response trackers.
• Coordinate inputs from tower SMEs, delivery, transition, finance, risk and commercial teams.
• Draft service descriptions, scope statements, assumptions, dependencies, exclusions and solution narratives.
• Prepare initial effort estimates, resource pyramids, location mixes and bill-of-material inputs using approved methods.
• Create and maintain architecture diagrams, operating-process views, response templates and reusable solution assets.
• Support internal reviews, resolve action items and maintain version control across proposal artefacts.
• Assist with client clarification responses and presentations when requested by the lead architect.

• Own assigned proposal work packages and individual solution artefacts.
• Support one CIS tower such as Cloud, Data Centre, Digital Workplace, Network, Security or Service Management.
• Exercise solution authority within the pursuit and engage the wider architecture, commercial and delivery community when decisions require broader alignment.

• Work mainly with internal sales, practice, delivery, finance, transition and commercial stakeholders.
• Participate in selected client calls for clarifications, note capture and follow-up actions.
• Communicate clearly in writing and present assigned sections with guidance.

• Working knowledge of at least one CIS tower and awareness of adjacent towers.
• Strong proposal writing, documentation, presentation and spreadsheet skills.
• Ability to interpret requirements and translate them into structured solution content.
• Basic understanding of managed services, transition, SLAs, governance, automation and cloud operating models.
• Attention to detail, ownership of deadlines and disciplined configuration management.

• Lead the assigned solution workstream and drive alignment across SMEs, delivery, commercial, transition and practice teams.
• Demonstrate reliability, learning agility and constructive challenge.

• Minimum educational qualification: MBA or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Foundation-level cloud, ITIL, networking, workplace or security certification is preferred.

The B3 profile typically applies to RFIs, small single-tower opportunities and defined workstreams within larger pursuits. This is guidance rather than a fixed boundary. The Solution Manager has authority over the assigned solution scope and may lead broader or more complex pursuits based on capability, context and business need.
