Then join us!<br/><br/>Key job responsibilities<br/>As a Software Development Engineer, you will own adding capabilities as we unlock more features on Kindle E-reader family. Our goal is to make it fast, easy and low-cost for our internal application developers to build features and release them on our E-reader stack. <br/>You will tackle challenging, novel situations every day and given the size of this initiative, you’ll have the opportunity to work with multiple technical teams across Amazon.<br/>You should be comfortable with a level of depth that you need to dive into as we solve deep operating system level problems! We will need to tackle problems that span a variety of domains: software, hardware as well as automation.<br/>You design and develop the critical components in the operating system as well as low-level components in E-reader that make the product a performant, secure and power optimized device. You also write applications on top of our unique Kindle Operating system. <br/>Along the way you’ll learn a ton, have fun and make a positive impact on millions of people.<br/>• You are proficient in C/C++ to understand internals of E-reader. If you know React Native, it will be a bonus as you can also write applications in E-reader. <br/>• Collaborate with experienced Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative components in E-reader<br/>• Architect and design a secure software that protects customer data stored on the devices.<br/><br/><br/>A day in the life<br/>In this role, you will be actively engaged in developing our system and writing applications that are based on C/C++ and react native. You will also be a lead engineer guiding junior members in this role. <br/>
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience<br/>- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience<br/>- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
