The High Court of Sikkim, Gangtok has invited applications for 6 contract posts under the e-Courts Project Phase-III. The four posts are Senior Technical Officer, Senior Developer, Developer and IT Assistant. Each post is for 1 year and pays a fixed monthly amount, from ₹45,180 up to ₹65,000. If you hold a BE, B.Tech, MCA, BCA or BSc in computers or IT, this is a good chance to work inside the High Court.
The form is offline. There is no online portal, so you must send or hand over your application by 20 November 2026. Read the eligibility for your own post first, because the experience asked for is different on each one. Keep visiting GovtJobsAlert.in for more Sikkim government jobs and computer and IT jobs.

The notice gives no category-wise reservation for these seats. So you will not find a split by General, SC, ST or OBC here, and we have not made one up.
Do not just look at the post title. Look at the experience line, because that is where most candidates get stuck. The Senior Technical Officer post is about running IT systems: networks, servers, databases and hardware support. The two developer posts are about writing and maintaining software. If your work so far is in one of these areas, pick the matching post and apply for that one.
| Post | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Senior Technical Officer | BE, B.Tech, MCA or M.Sc with specialization in Computer Science, Electronics or IT from a recognized institution, plus minimum 2 years experience in administration of IT infrastructure, networks, database, server administration, LAN, technical troubleshooting and supporting hardware |
| Senior Developer | Same degrees and specializations, plus minimum 2 years experience in software development including application design, deployment, testing and maintenance |
| Developer | Same degrees and specializations, plus minimum 1 year experience in software development |
| IT Assistant | BE, B.Tech, BCA or BSc (IT / Computer Science). The notice states no experience for this post |
The experience must be in the field named for your post, and it must be at least the number of years written in the table. If you are a fresh graduate, the IT Assistant post is the only one where the notice states no experience.
| Condition | Age |
|---|---|
| Minimum age | 18 years as on 1 January 2026 |
| Maximum age | 30 years on the last day of submitting the form |
Not sure if you meet the age criteria? Use our free Age Calculator for Government Exams to find your exact age on the cut-off date and instantly check your eligibility — including any age relaxation you qualify for. →
The age limit is uniform for all communities of the State. The notice says upper-age relaxation will be the same as the State Government prescribes from time to time, but it gives no figures. So do not assume any relaxation in years; check the State rules or ask the Registry if you are near the limit. Your upper age is counted on 20 November 2026, so work it out for that day.
| Post | Monthly Fixed Remuneration |
|---|---|
| Senior Technical Officer | ₹65,000 |
| Senior Developer | ₹55,000 |
| Developer | ₹50,000 |
| IT Assistant | ₹45,180 |
These are fixed monthly amounts, not a pay level, and the job is contractual for 1 year. The notice also says no TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview or viva-voce. Plan your travel costs with that in mind.
Because the job runs for 1 year on a contract under the e-Courts project, think about whether the term suits you before you apply. The notice does not say anything about extension of the contract, so we cannot tell you whether it can be renewed. A higher post pays more, but it also asks for more years of experience, so apply to the post you truly qualify for and not just the highest paid one.
| Stage | Detail |
|---|---|
| Preliminary scrutiny | Only candidates found eligible are called for the Written Examination |
| Written Examination | Score 40% or more to reach the Practical Test |
| Practical Test | Score 40% or more to reach the Interview |
| Interview / Viva-voce | Final stage |
Final selection is on the combined marks of the Written Examination, Practical Test and Interview. If two candidates have the same total, the one with more marks in the Main Paper gets preference. If those are also equal, the older candidate gets preference. The merit list will be put on the High Court website and on its notice boards.
The notice does not give the exam pattern, syllabus or exam dates. The list of accepted candidates and the admit card dates will be announced on the official website and in local dailies. No duplicate admit card will be issued for a lost one, unless you show the loss was beyond your control. No separate call letters will be sent for the interview.
