Position: Senior ServiceNow Hardware Asset Management (HAM) Developer
Experience: 5+ Years

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior ServiceNow HAM Developer to lead the implementation and enhancement of the ServiceNow Hardware Asset Management (HAM) module using Out‑of‑the‑Box (OOB) functionalities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing end‑to‑end hardware asset lifecycle processes, ensuring data accuracy, integrating HAM with enterprise systems, and mentoring junior developers. This role requires strong technical expertise, hands‑on implementation experience, and deep knowledge of ITAM best practices.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the configuration and implementation of the HAM lifecycle, including request, procurement, receipt, deployment, and disposal.
  • Configure asset models, asset workflows, asset states, and inventory management processes.
  • Integrate the HAM module with CMDB, Procurement, and Discovery tools to ensure accurate and automated asset tracking.
  • Implement data normalization, reconciliation, and audit processes to maintain data quality.
  • Define and maintain roles, hardware catalog items, SLAs, lifecycle states, and governance standards.
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, KPIs, and analytics ensuring HAM data integrity.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align HAM processes with organizational ITAM strategy.
  • Provide technical guidance, best practices, and mentorship to junior team members.

Primary Skills (Must‑Have)

  • Strong hands‑on experience in ServiceNow HAM module implementation using Out‑of‑the‑Box features.
  • Proficiency in ServiceNow scripting, including Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, and Flow Designer.
  • Strong understanding of CMDB integration, Asset Repository, and Asset Discovery processes.
  • Expertise in lifecycle state models, asset normalization rules, and reconciliation logic.
  • Solid understanding of ITIL and ITAM frameworks.

Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Have)

  • Experience with Software Asset Management (SAM).
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and vendor management.
  • Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Relevant ServiceNow certifications (CSA, HAM Micro‑Certifications, ITAM certifications).
