Overview

Mastercard is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Software Developer (Level 6) to join our Cards & Payments technology team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Mainframe technologies and Python development, with additional experience in Java Spring Boot. This role requires a hands-on technical leader who can design, develop, and support mission-critical payment processing applications while driving modernization initiatives across the Cards & Payments ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable solutions within the Cards & Payments domain.
  • Develop and maintain high-performance Mainframe applications supporting critical payment processing functions.
  • Build and enhance automation, integration, and data-processing solutions using Python.
  • Collaborate with architects, product owners, and cross-functional teams to deliver business-critical projects.
  • Participate in modernization initiatives by integrating Mainframe systems with distributed applications and APIs.
  • Develop and support microservices and enterprise applications using Java Spring Boot.
  • Ensure application reliability, performance, security, and compliance with Mastercard standards.
  • Conduct design reviews, code reviews, and mentor junior developers.
  • Analyze production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
  • Contribute to Agile ceremonies and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
