Job Summary

 

We are seeking an experienced PLM Migration Architect to lead large-scale Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) data migration and transformation initiatives into Siemens Teamcenter. The role will be responsible for defining migration strategies, solution architecture, data governance, migration execution frameworks, and ensuring successful transition of legacy product data into Teamcenter.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in PLM migration programs involving legacy Smart Team/PDM systems, ERP integrations, CAD data migration, data quality management, and Teamcenter implementation projects.

Key Responsibilities

Migration Strategy & Architecture

  • Define end-to-end migration strategy for Teamcenter implementation, upgrade, consolidation, and transformation programs.
  • Design scalable migration architecture, frameworks, and migration roadmaps.
  • Assess source systems and determine migration scope, complexity, risks, and dependencies.
  • Create migration blueprints, data models, mapping documents, and transition strategies.
  • Establish migration governance, standards, and best practices.

Data Assessment & Analysis

  • Analyze source systems such as:
    • Legacy PLM/PDM systems
    • Teamcenter legacy environments
    • ENOVIA
    • SmartTeam
  • Conduct data profiling and quality assessments.
  • Identify duplicate, obsolete, and redundant data.
  • Develop cleansing and data enrichment strategies.

Data Migration Solution Design

  • Architect migration solutions for:
    • Parts & Items
    • BOMs (EBOM/MBOM)
    • Documents
    • CAD Data
    • Specifications
    • Change Objects (ECR/ECO/ECN)
    • Manufacturing Data
    • Supplier Information
    • Classification Data
  • Define data transformation and validation rules.
  • Create reconciliation and audit strategies.

Teamcenter Migration Execution

  • Design and oversee migration processes using:
    • Teamcenter Data Exchange
    • PLMXML
    • Bulk Loader Utilities
    • TC XML
    • Data Management APIs
    • ETL Tools
  • Support development of migration scripts and automation frameworks.
  • Perform migration rehearsals, mock loads, and production cutovers.

CAD & Engineering Data Migration

  • Lead migration of CAD data from:
    • NX
    • CATIA
    • Creo
    • SolidWorks
  • Ensure preservation of product structures, relationships, and metadata.
  • Validate CAD-Teamcenter integrations and references.

Data Governance & Quality

  • Define data quality KPIs and migration success criteria.
  • Establish data validation and reconciliation frameworks.
  • Drive master data governance initiatives.
  • Ensure auditability, traceability, and compliance.

Risk & Stakeholder Management

  • Identify migration risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Lead migration workshops with business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with PLM architects, business analysts, developers, and infrastructure teams.
  • Present migration approach and readiness status to leadership.

Other Requirements

Required Experience

  • 12+ years of PLM experience.
  • 8+ years of Teamcenter experience.
  • 6+ years leading PLM migration or data transformation programs.
  • Experience in at least 2–3 large-scale Teamcenter migration projects.
  • Strong experience migrating millions of records and complex product structures.
  • Experience in mergers, acquisitions, system consolidations, and legacy modernization initiatives is preferred.
