Role Overview

We are looking for a Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer with hands-on experience in Marketing Cloud Engagement development, campaign automation, data extensions, SQL, AMPscript, SSJS, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, APIs, and integrations. The developer should be able to build personalized, scalable, and compliant marketing solutions across email, mobile, web, and customer journey use cases.

The role requires strong technical understanding of Marketing Cloud data models, scripting, APIs, campaign execution, template development, segmentation, automation, and integration with Salesforce CRM and external systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement solutions across Email Studio, Content Builder, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Contact Builder, CloudPages, and Mobile/Digital channels as applicable.
• Build dynamic and reusable email templates, content blocks, CloudPages, landing pages, and preference centers using HTML, CSS, AMPscript, SSJS, and JavaScript.
• Develop SQL queries for audience segmentation, data transformation, campaign targeting, reporting extracts, and automation workflows.
• Configure data extensions, sendable data extensions, filtered data extensions, data relationships, attribute groups, contact model, and subscriber management.
• Build and support customer journeys, triggered sends, automation workflows, data imports, data extracts, file drops, and scheduled campaign operations.
• Integrate Marketing Cloud with Salesforce CRM using Marketing Cloud Connect and support lead/contact/campaign/member synchronization scenarios.
• Implement integrations using Marketing Cloud REST and SOAP APIs, OAuth authentication, installed packages, custom apps, and external platform connections.
• Develop and troubleshoot Journey Builder custom activities, API-triggered events, transactional messaging, and data-driven campaign logic where required.
• Support personalization, dynamic content, audience rules, A/B testing, suppression logic, consent preferences, unsubscribe handling, and compliance-related campaign requirements.
• Troubleshoot campaign execution issues related to data, scripting, automation failures, API errors, deliverability, subscriber status, or journey logic.
• Work with functional consultants, campaign teams, architects, data teams, and QA teams to convert business requirements into technical campaign builds.
• Follow platform best practices for data retention, contact count optimization, naming standards, folder structure, access control, deployment, and reusable assets.
• Prepare technical documentation, build notes, deployment instructions, test evidence, and operational handover documents.
• Support QA, UAT, release validation, production deployment, and post-go-live support.

Skill Requirements

Required Skills and Experience

• 3+ years of hands-on Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement development experience.
• Strong experience with Email Studio, Content Builder, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Contact Builder, CloudPages, and Marketing Cloud data model.
• Hands-on experience with AMPscript, SSJS, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive email development.
• Strong understanding of data extensions, subscriber model, contact model, attribute groups, send classifications, publication lists, suppression lists, and preference management.
• Experience building automated campaigns, customer journeys, triggered sends, transactional messages, and segmentation logic.
• Experience with Marketing Cloud REST and SOAP APIs, installed packages, OAuth, API-triggered journeys, and external integrations.
• Experience with Marketing Cloud Connect and integration between Salesforce CRM and Marketing Cloud.
• Good understanding of campaign QA, data validation, personalization testing, rendering checks, link validation, and deployment readiness.
• Ability to troubleshoot scripting errors, SQL failures, automation failures, journey-entry issues, data-sync issues, and API errors.
• Good understanding of consent management, unsubscribe handling, data privacy considerations, and compliant marketing execution.
• Experience working in Agile delivery teams and collaborating with business, campaign, data, QA, and architecture stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Other Requirements

Good to Have

• Experience with Mobile Studio, Advertising integrations, Intelligence/analytics, Interaction Studio/Personalization, Data Cloud, or cross-cloud Salesforce journeys.
• Experience developing custom preference centers, CloudPages apps, and Journey Builder custom activities.
• Exposure to CI/CD or deployment tools for Marketing Cloud assets.
• Experience with deliverability best practices, sender authentication, IP warming, domain configuration, and campaign performance tracking.
• Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks, Node.js, middleware integrations, or cloud platforms where relevant.
• Experience working with enterprise-scale data volumes, multi-business unit setup, shared data extensions, and global campaign governance.

• Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Developer.
• Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Email Specialist.
• Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Administrator.
• Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Consultant.
• Salesforce AI Associate or Data Cloud certification, if relevant to project scope.
