The IES Central Shopping Experience team builds products that make Amazon the most trusted shopping destination for hundreds of millions of customers across fast-growing marketplaces. We tackle a uniquely challenging problem earning the confidence of customers who are new to online shopping or navigating unfamiliar Amazon experiences.<br/><br/>We own three high-impact platforms. The Shopping Aids platform delivers contextual, intelligent tooltips, bottom sheets, sparkles that guide customers through their shopping journey from product discovery to checkout across surfaces. The Trust Widget is live across 12+ locales with 23+ trust markers (returns, payments, delivery, warranty, and more), directly influencing purchase decisions and driving hundreds of millions in annualized OPS impact. We also own Social Proofing, helping customers make confident decisions by surfacing real-time signals of what other shoppers are buying and trusting.<br/><br/>Our tech stack spans native mobile rendering libraries, backend Coral services, DynamoDB-backed data stores, Horizonte applications, and DataCraft analytics pipelines. We build for scale, reliability, and experimentation every feature is validated through rigorous A/B testing.<br/><br/>This is a team where your work is directly visible to customers, measurable in business impact, and technically challenging. If you want to solve real problems at the intersection of customer trust and large-scale distributed systems, we'd love to hear from you.<br/><br/>Key job responsibilities<br/>• Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market.<br/>• Design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment and help lead fundamental changes in the industry.<br/>• Create solutions to run predictions on distributed systems with exposure to innovative technologies at incredible scale and speed.<br/>• Build distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, and easy to manage/use.<br/>• Design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems.<br/>• Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience<br/>- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience<br/>- 3+ years of Video Games Industry (supporting title Development, Release, or Live Ops) experience<br/>- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
