Job Description

Amazon Operations sits at the heart of the Amazon customer experience. We look after everything from the moment a customer clicks buy, to the moment their item is delivered — from desktop to doorstep.

Across the globe we have more than a thousand Fulfilment Centres, thousands of Delivery Stations, tens of thousands of machines, and hundreds of thousands of employees, all working together in harmony to make sure the right item gets delivered to the right person, in the right place, at the right time.

Join us in the Amazon Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team. We maintain and optimize technologies in the Global Amazon Warehouse & Delivery Network.

Purpose of job

We are seeking an experienced Refrigeration Specialist who will own the safety, performance, and operational continuity of refrigeration systems across Amazon's India portfolio. This role is based in the AMOC (Amazon Maintenance Operation Centre) and focuses on advanced remote monitoring, root-cause analysis, vendor coordination, compliance oversight, and continuous improvement of refrigeration operations across AMZL and GSF sites.

The Refrigeration Specialist will take ownership of alarm resolution quality, refrigeration KPI performance, and vendor accountability. This person will also coach and mentor escalation specialists within the team, contribute to process standardization, and serve as the primary refrigeration subject matter expert within AMOC India.

We are seeking an engineer with solid refrigeration knowledge and the drive to take full ownership of refrigeration excellence in a growing network.

Key job responsibilities
· Vendor and Ticket Management: Own the end-to-end quality of refrigeration work orders, validating asset selection, severity classification, and technical descriptions. Lead vendor coordination including dispatch prioritization, SLA tracking, follow-up on ETAs and on-site execution.

· Remote Monitoring & Root-Cause Analysis: Monitor refrigeration systems through advanced platforms, interpreting mechanical and temperature trends to detect anomalies early. Perform in-depth triage on alarms to identify root causes, determine corrective actions, and validate resolution effectiveness. Drive continuous improvement by analyzing recurring issues, building insights, and recommending system or process changes to engineering teams.

· Documentation & Knowledge Management: Lead the creation and maintenance of refrigeration documentation including case studies, SOP updates, workflows, troubleshooting guides, and lessons learned to support AMOC and RME teams. Ensure documentation is current, accessible, and aligned with operational standards.

· Team Development & Capability Building: Coach and mentor Escalation Specialists within the team, reinforcing correct triage, work-order processes, and escalation procedures across shifts. Support onboarding of new team members and serve as the primary refrigeration reference point within AMOC India.

· Process Improvement & Compliance: Drive adherence to established refrigeration workflows and proactively identify improvements to alarm handling, vendor management, WO processes, and regulatory compliance. Ensure all refrigeration activities comply with FGAS regulations and Amazon safety standards.

· Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with RME field teams, Operations, and external vendors to ensure alignment on refrigeration priorities, site-specific requirements, and network expansion activities.
