Job Description

SECTION I: BASIC INFORMATIONJob Function: MEPRole: Engineer - MEP - Site (Electrical and ELV)Job Family: Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP)SECTION II: ROLE SUMMARY (Purpose of the Role)To execute and supervise electrical and ELV system installation works at the project site, ensuring compliance with design specifications, quality standards, safety norms, and project timelines. The role involves coordination with internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure efficient and timely completion of electrical and ELV packages as part of the overall MEP scope.SECTION III: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ ACCOUNTABILITIESExecute and monitor electrical and ELV installations including HT/LT systems, lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, CCTV, access control, and BMS as per approved drawings and specifications.Coordinate with civil and MEP teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical and ELV works within the overall site activities.Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety regulations, and quality standards throughout installation and testing.Inspect and verify installations, prepare snag lists, and ensure timely rectifications in coordination with vendors and subcontractors.Support in preparation of material submittals, shop drawings, and method statements related to electrical and ELV systems.Assist in testing and commissioning of electrical and ELV systems and ensure adherence to functional requirements.SECTION IV: KEY INTERACTIONSInternal StakeholdersProject & Execution Teams: For activity coordination and schedule integration.QA/QC & Safety Teams: For progress updates, inspections, and quality adherence.Stores & Procurement Departments: For material availability and inventory updates.External StakeholdersSubcontractors & Vendors: For execution support, installation, and material deliveries.Clients / Consultants / PMCs: For inspections, approvals, and compliance checks.Statutory & Government Authorities: For electrical safety certifications and compliance inspections.SECTION V: KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCEKNOWLEDGEMinimum Qualifications: ITI / Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or relevant field.Language Skills: Proficient in English; knowledge of local language preferred for site communication.EXPERIENCEYears of Experience: 3 – 22 years.Nature of Experience: Experience in electrical and ELV installation, supervision, and testing at construction project sites, with exposure to coordination with multidisciplinary teams and compliance management.SECTION VI: TECHNICAL & LEADERSHIP / BEHAVIORAL SKILLS REQUIRED TO EXECUTE THE ROLETechnical SkillsElectrical system installation, ELV systems (CCTV, access control, BMS, PA system)Cable laying and termination, switchgear and panel installationDrawing interpretation, AutoCAD, and MS Office proficiencySite supervision and electrical safety complianceLoad calculation and voltage drop analysisTesting, commissioning, and quality inspectionBuilding Management System (BMS) KnowledgeDDC Control SystemLow Voltage / Extra Low Voltage System InstallationReconciliationResource PlanningLeadership / Behavioral SkillsTeam coordination and time managementAttention to detail and communicationAdaptability and accountabilitySafety awareness and problem solvingStakeholder collaboration and result orientation
