Job Requirements

Role Summary

Responsible for end-to-end planning and coordination of gold jewellery production, ensuring optimum utilization of materials and production capacity, timely order fulfilment, efficient post-production operations, and effective warehouse and CFA (Carrying & Forwarding Agent) operations. The role focuses on achieving delivery commitments while maintaining stringent controls over gold inventory, product movement, quality, cost, and operational efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Control

  • Coordinate with sourcing, Supply chain, quality teams to ensure smooth execution of production plans.
  • Monitor production progress against plan and proactively address capacity constraints, material shortages, bottlenecks, and delivery risks.
  • Optimize production loading and inventory levels to improve throughput and order fulfilment.
  • Track key planning metrics including plan adherence, lead time, WIP, ageing, and order backlog.

2. Gold & Material Management

  • Ensure effective planning and control of gold, components, findings, stones, and other production materials.
  • Monitor gold movement and reconciliation across various stages of production.
  • Drive reduction of excess WIP, inventory variance and material ageing.
  • Coordinate requirements and availability of materials in line with production priorities.

3. Post-Production Operations

  • Manage and coordinate post-production activities after manufacturing completion.
  • Ensure timely movement of finished jewellery through quality clearance, tagging, documentation, packing, and dispatch readiness.
  • Monitor finished goods ageing and ensure timely closure of pending orders.
  • Coordinate with Quality, Logistics, Warehouse, Commercial, and other stakeholders for seamless flow from production completion to dispatch.
  • Drive improvement initiatives to reduce post-production turnaround time

4. Warehouse Operations

  • Lead warehouse operations covering receipt, storage, inventory control, picking, packing, and dispatch of jewellery/products.
  • Ensure system inventory and physical inventory accuracy through robust reconciliation and cycle-count processes.
  • Optimize warehouse space, manpower productivity, process flow, and turnaround time.
  • Monitor stock ageing and coordinate appropriate actions with relevant business teams.

5. CFA & Distribution Operations

  • Oversee CFA operations to ensure timely receipt, storage, order processing, and dispatch to customers/retail locations.
  • Monitor CFA inventory accuracy, service levels, dispatch performance, and compliance with defined SOPs.
  • Coordinate with CFA partners, logistics service providers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders for smooth distribution.
  • Ensure proper documentation, reconciliation, and controls for stock movement between manufacturing locations, warehouses, CFAs, and customers.

6.Governance, Controls & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to SOPs, internal controls, audit requirements, and statutory/commercial documentation.
  • Maintain strict inventory accountability and traceability for gold and finished jewellery.
  • Support internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of observations.
  • Strengthen controls to minimize inventory discrepancies, losses, and operational risks.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Graduate in Engineering / Supply Chain / Business Administration
  • 5 years of experience in planning / supply chain / production coordination
  • Preferably with exposure to gold / jewellery industry
