Job Description

Manager – Capability Development_Content

JOB DESCRIPTION

Organization: Tata AIA Life Insurance

Department: Agency

Reports to: AVP - Content

Role purpose

Translate Agency business priorities into clear, accurate and engaging content that helps advisors, agency leaders and employees understand, learn and act. The role combines business storytelling, instructional design, bilingual writing and visual communication to support capability building, advisor activation, recruitment and business execution.

Own assigned content projects from brief interpretation and research through storytelling, writing, visual direction, stakeholder review and final delivery

Scope and audiences

Create leadership presentations, learning modules, workshop flows, campaign communication, event narratives and audio-visual scripts. Adapt the message for advisors, agency leaders, trainers, employees and senior leadership, including the Chief Distribution Officer (CDO), Chief Business Officer (CBO) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Key responsibilities Business storytelling and leadership presentations

• Interpret the business objective, audience and desired action; translate broad or incomplete briefs into a focused narrative with a strong opening, logical transitions and a clear closing.

• Create editable PowerPoint presentations for leadership addresses, strategy meets, business launches and reviews. Simplify data into accurate headlines, meaningful charts and decision-oriented messages.

• Develop relevant analogies and examples; write concise on-slide copy and provide clear visual direction. Keep speaker scripts separate from audience-facing slides when required.

Learning content and instructional design

• Design instructor-led and digital learning content, workshop flows, facilitator guides, participant materials, job aids and reinforcement communication aligned to observable learning outcomes.

• Build realistic scenarios, role-plays, practice activities, debriefs and assessments. Connect learning to specific field actions and incorporate trainer feedback to improve usability.

Campaigns, events and audio-visual content

• Develop themes, taglines, launch narratives and copy for advisor campaigns, recruitment initiatives, recognition programs and events. Maintain a coherent message across formats.

• Write video voice-over, on-screen text and timed storyboards for launch films, teasers, leadership messages and event recaps. Specify visual references, transitions and production requirements within the available runtime and template.

• Create crisp WhatsApp messages, email copy, posters, standees and other communication assets. Adapt tone, language and message length to the audience and channel.

Production ownership and collaboration

• Translate approved concepts into precise briefs for designers, video editors and external agencies. Review outputs for message clarity, visual relevance, pacing and adherence to the brief.

• Manage concurrent assignments, delivery schedules, dependencies and version control. Consolidate stakeholder feedback, explain creative recommendations and flag risks early.

• Deliver complete, editable source files and approved assets. Maintain organized repositories, reusable templates and clear handoffs to improve turnaround and consistency.

Research, accuracy and quality assurance

• Research business topics, audience needs, product information and suitable examples using credible sources. Verify numbers, names, dates, eligibility criteria and product statements against approved inputs.

• Apply brand and editorial standards; coordinate required internal reviews before release. Preserve factual meaning and explicitly locked elements during revisions, and manage permissions for sourced assets.

AI-enabled content development and improvement

• Use approved AI tools for ideation, drafting, storyboarding, summarisation and critique. Apply human editorial judgment, validate generated claims and protect confidential information.

• Develop reusable prompts and workflows with clear quality checks. Track content usage, learner or stakeholder feedback and agreed outcome measures to improve future work.

Candidate requirements Experience and qualifications

• Typically 4-8 years in content, instructional design, sales enablement or corporate communication. Equivalent experience supported by a strong portfolio may be considered.

• Personal ownership of original learning and business content, from brief to delivery.

• Qualifications in communication, journalism, English, learning design, management or related disciplines are desirable. Demonstrated capability and portfolio quality carry greater weight.

Essential skills

• Strong business interpretation and narrative development; ability to simplify complex information while preserving accuracy.

• Excellent English writing and editing, with the ability to create natural, audience-appropriate Hindi/Hinglish copy and spoken scripts.

• Practical instructional design: learning objectives, activities, practice, debriefs, assessment and reinforcement.

• Hands-on PowerPoint proficiency, visual hierarchy and data presentation; ability to write AV scripts and brief and review creative work.

• Research, proofreading, stakeholder communication and project management; practical AI use with appropriate verification.

Preferred experience

BFSI or life-insurance content; Agency recruitment, activation and productivity; MDRT/COT/TOT communication; leadership decks and event narratives. Canva, Adobe and e-learning authoring experience is useful. Advanced video editing and animation are additional strengths.
