Job Description

Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency)

Must-Have

 

Strong hands-on experience in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, and TSO/ISPF.

Experience in Mainframe application development, maintenance, enhancement, impact analysis, debugging, and troubleshooting.

Experience in production support, incident management, defect resolution, and root cause analysis.

Strong understanding of batch processing, batch monitoring, failure analysis, job restart, and recovery procedures.

Experience working with DB2 databases, SQL queries, and database-related support activities.

Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC), testing methodologies, change management, and deployment processes.

Experience with ticketing tools such as ServiceNow or similar incident management platforms.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Good verbal and written communication skills wit h the ability to work independently and within distributed teams.

 

Good-to-Have

Knowledge of Easytrieve, REXX, and Mainframe utilities.

Experience with enterprise scheduling tools such as Control-M or equivalent.

Exposure to utility, billing, customer information systems (CIS), finance, insurance, banking, or other transaction processing applications.

Experience supporting critical batch cycles and large-scale production environments.

Knowledge of Mainframe modernization initiatives and integration with distributed systems.

Exposure to DevOps, automation, and monitoring solutions in Mainframe environments.
