Job Summary

Seeking an experienced SAP APO Functional Consultant to design, configure, implement, and support SAP Advanced Planning & Optimization (APO) solutions. The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, supply chain teams, and technical teams to optimize planning processes including Demand Planning (DP), Supply Network Planning (SNP), Production Planning & Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS), Global Available-to-Promise (GATP), and Supply Chain Cockpit (SCC). The role requires strong functional expertise in supply chain planning and integration with SAP ECC/S4HANA environments

Key Responsibilities

Functional Consulting

  • Gather and analyze business requirements related to supply chain planning and fulfillment.
  • Design and configure SAP APO solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Conduct solution workshops and prepare functional specifications.
  • Support end-to-end implementation, rollout, and enhancement projects.

APO Module Expertise

  • Configure and support:
    • Demand Planning (DP)
    • Supply Network Planning (SNP)
    • Production Planning & Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS)
    • Global Available-to-Promise (GATP)
    • CIF (Core Interface) Integration
  • Develop planning strategies and forecasting models.
  • Optimize inventory, production scheduling, and fulfillment processes.

Business Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for process automation and optimization.
  • Recommend best practices in demand forecasting, supply planning, and production scheduling.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within Supply Chain Planning.

Integration & Support

  • Work with SAP ECC/S4HANA functional teams (MM, PP, SD, WM/EWM).
  • Collaborate with ABAP developers on reports, enhancements, interfaces, and forms.
  • Support integration between APO and external planning systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production support issues.

Testing & Deployment

  • Prepare Functional Design Documents (FDDs).
  • Execute Unit Testing, SIT, and UAT activities.
  • Support cutover planning and go-live activities.
  • Provide post-go-live hypercare support.

Skill Requirements

Functional Skills

  • Strong expertise in SAP APO modules:
    • DP
    • SNP
    • PP/DS
    • GATP
    • CIF
  • Deep understanding of supply chain planning processes.
  • Knowledge of forecasting techniques and planning heuristics.
  • Understanding of ATP, inventory planning, procurement, and manufacturing processes.

SAP Integration Skills

  • APO-ECC/S4HANA Integration
  • CIF Monitoring and Troubleshooting
  • SAP PP, MM, SD Integration
  • ALE/IDoc Concepts
  • Master Data Management

Technical Awareness

  • APO Master Data
  • Planning Books and Data Views
  • Interactive Planning
  • Macros and Alerts
  • SAP HANA concepts

Basic ABAP debugging knowledge

Other Requirements

  • 8 years of SAP APO experience.
  • Multiple global implementation and rollout projects.
  • Strong expertise in PP/DS and Supply Chain Planning optimization.
  • Experience leading workshops and solution design sessions.
