Job Description

Join a quality-first team where your leadership directly shapes product reliability and customer trust. In this role, you’ll lead end-to-end test automation efforts, guiding engineers to build scalable, maintainable frameworks and ensuring every release meets high standards. You’ll collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and DevOps to embed quality throughout the delivery lifecycle—shifting left with smart automation, clear test strategies, and actionable insights. If you enjoy mentoring, solving complex testing challenges, and driving continuous improvement, this is a great opportunity to influence both engineering outcomes and team culture while working on impactful, real-world systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead QA strategy and execution across projects, ensuring robust automated testing coverage and release readiness.
  • Design, develop, and maintain Java-based Selenium automation frameworks aligned with best practices and long-term scalability.
  • Define test plans, test cases, and automation suites for functional, regression, and smoke testing across applications.
  • Review automation code, enforce quality standards, and drive improvements in test design, stability, and execution speed.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to clarify requirements, identify risks early, and ensure testability of features.
  • Analyze test results, troubleshoot failures, and provide clear defect reports with reproducible steps and evidence.
  • Mentor and guide QA engineers, supporting skill development, task planning, and consistent delivery across the team.
  • Track quality metrics and communicate status, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders in a timely manner.

Design and implement automation frameworks using Playwright with TypeScript/JavaScript for web and API testing, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and reusability.

  • Develop, execute, and maintain automated test suites for functional, regression, smoke, and integration testing across multiple applications and environments.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams (developers, product owners, business analysts) to understand requirements, define acceptance criteria, and translate them into effective automated test scenarios.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Git-based workflows, ensuring fast feedback and reliable build quality gates.
  • Perform API testing using Rest Assured or equivalent tools, validating request/response flows, status codes, and data integrity.
  • Conduct database testing by writing and executing queries to validate data consistency, transformations, and back-end logic.

Technical requirements

  • Experience leading QA teams or acting as a test/automation lead across multiple releases.
  • Expertise in building reusable automation components, applying design patterns, and improving framework maintainability.
  • Experience with test execution and reporting practices that improve visibility and decision-making for releases.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence quality outcomes across cross-functional teams.
  • Exposure to performance and API testing concepts and integrating automation into modern delivery pipelines.

Strong hands-on experience with Playwright (minimum 3 years) for UI test automation, including test creation, execution, and maintenance.

  • Proficiency in TypeScript (or strong JavaScript with willingness to work in TypeScript) for writing clean, modular, and reusable test automation code.
  • Solid understanding of automation testing concepts including test design techniques, test data management, and defect lifecycle.

Preferred skills

  • Technology › Automated Testing › Selenium-Java
  • Technology › Automated Testing › Playwright Typescript
