Senior Java Full Stack Developer – Heritage Application

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer to join the Heritage application team. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting scalable web applications across both backend and frontend technologies.

The role requires strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot 4.1, Hibernate, PostgreSQL, Angular 17, Elasticsearch, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript, along with experience using GitHub Copilot (GHCP) to accelerate development and improve engineering productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, enhance, and maintain the Heritage application across backend and frontend components.
  • Develop robust and scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot 4.1.
  • Design and implement RESTful APIs and application services.
  • Implement database persistence and data-access layers using Hibernate and PostgreSQL.
  • Develop responsive, reusable, and maintainable UI components using Angular 17, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Implement and optimize search functionality using Elasticsearch.
  • Troubleshoot application issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes.
  • Improve application performance, maintainability, reliability, and code quality.
  • Perform unit testing, code reviews, debugging, and technical validation before deployment.
  • Use GitHub Copilot (GHCP) effectively for AI-assisted coding, code optimization, test generation, documentation, and developer productivity.
  • Participate in technical design discussions, backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, architects, QA teams, DevOps teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement and modernization of the Heritage application.
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to engineering best practices within the squad.

Key Responsibilities

Experience & Qualifications

  • 7-8 years of overall software development experience, with strong exposure to full-stack application development.
  • Proven hands-on experience developing enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Strong experience with modern frontend development using Angular and TypeScript.
  • Good understanding of Hibernate, relational database design, SQL, and PostgreSQL.
  • Experience implementing and working with Elasticsearch.
  • Experience building and integrating REST APIs.
  • Hands-on experience with GitHub Copilot or AI-assisted software development practices.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles, clean coding practices, design patterns, and application architecture.
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery teams.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
