Job Description

Responsibilities

Electrical Project Execution

  • Execute electrical works for greenfield and brownfield thermal power plant projects.
  • Monitor daily progress of electrical erection and installation activities.
  • Coordinate with Civil, Mechanical, C&I, Planning, and Commissioning teams for seamless project execution.
  • Ensure achievement of project milestones within budget and timelines.
  • Track equipment delivery, installation readiness, and site progress.

Electrical Equipment Installation

  • Supervise installation and commissioning of:
    • Generator & Generator Auxiliaries
    • Unit Auxiliary Transformers (UAT)
    • Generator Transformers (GT)
    • Station Transformers
    • HT/LT Switchgear
    • MCC & PCC Panels
    • Bus Duct Systems
    • VFDs and Soft Starters
    • UPS & Battery Chargers
    • Cable Trays, Power & Control Cables
    • Illumination Systems
    • Earthing and Lightning Protection Systems

Switchyard & Substation Activities

  • Coordinate erection and commissioning activities for AIS/GIS switchyards.
  • Supervise installation of:
    • Circuit Breakers
    • Current Transformers (CT)
    • Potential Transformers (PT/CVT)
    • Isolators
    • Lightning Arresters
    • Protection & Control Panels
  • Ensure completion of switchyard works as per approved specifications.

Testing & Commissioning

  • Participate in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
  • Review testing procedures and commissioning checklists.
  • Support synchronization activities and unit start-up operations.
  • Coordinate troubleshooting and rectification of electrical system issues.
  • Ensure successful energization of electrical systems.

Quality Assurance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with approved drawings, standards, and project specifications.
  • Monitor quality of installation and testing activities.
  • Implement electrical safety practices and permit-to-work procedures.
  • Participate in safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
  • Drive compliance with statutory and plant safety requirements.

Vendor & Contractor Management

  • Coordinate with EPC contractors, vendors, consultants, and OEM representatives.
  • Verify contractor bills, progress reports, and resource deployment.
  • Participate in inspection and acceptance of electrical equipment.
  • Ensure timely material availability at site.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Review electrical drawings, SLDs, layouts, and technical documents.
  • Maintain installation, testing, and commissioning records.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
  • Support preparation of management reviews and project status presentations.

Qualifications

Diploma / B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
 
Exp - 9-15 Years
