Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must be a citizen of India. The candidate must have passed:
- Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
- Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
- Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)
- Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
- Graduation and Two Year Diploma in Elementary Education Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) (conducted by the West Bengal Board of Primary Education adhering to the rules and principles set by NCTE)
Application Process
A candidate is required to pay the requisite fee as mentioned below (non-refundable) to obtain and submit filled in Application Form through online mode:
- For General Category Candidate: INR 600/-(₹600)
- For OBC (A and B) Candidate: INR 500/-(₹500)
- For SC/ ST/ EWS/ PwD Candidate: INR 300/- (₹300)

- Age Limit (as on 01-01-2025): Minimum Age Limit: 18 Years, Maximum Age limit: 40 Years, with relaxation of upper age limit for SC/ ST/ OBC(A & B)/ PwD/ Exempted/ Ex-Servicemen/ Para Teacher categories.
Selection Process
The selection of Assistant Teachers shall be made on the basis of aggregated marks obtained in the following items of evaluation out of maximum marks of 50:
- Madhyamik/ equivalent examination: 05 Marks
- Higher Secondary/ equivalent examination: 10 Marks
- Training as specified by NCTE: 15 Marks
- Teacher Eligibility Test (TET): 05 Marks
- Extra-Curricular Activities: 05 Marks
- Viva-Voce/ Interview: 05 Marks
- Aptitude Test/ Teaching experience in case of Para-Teacher: 05 Marks
