In its latest notice dated 29 September 2026, the Board said that because of rain, candidates whose PET was fixed for 01 October 2026 at 9 PAC centres will now run on 08 October 2026. The Board’s PET date notice sets out the path so far. The written exam was held on 08, 09 and 10 June 2026, and its result was published through a notice dated 31 July 2026. After normalisation of marks, candidates who reached the minimum qualifying marks were called for DV/PST on the basis of merit and the UP reservation rules. Only candidates who passed DV/PST, including those passed provisionally, take the PET. If your document verification was completed provisionally for any reason, your PET will also be provisional, subject to the final decision taken on your case.

The PET is qualifying in nature. Candidates who do not finish the run within the time allowed will not be eligible for recruitment.

Timing is electronic, not manual. The Board uses standard electronic timing equipment with CCTV coverage, and biometrics with adequate backup, to prevent impersonation. The PET is run in each district or commissionerate by a committee made up of an SDM (Deputy Collector) nominated by the DM, a Deputy SP nominated by the police chief, and a medical officer nominated by the CMO. The pass and fail list is signed jointly by the committee, and the result is shown on the notice board at the venue at the end of each day.
