Good news for experienced designers who want to teach. The National Institute of Design, Madhya Pradesh (NID MP) in Bhopal has announced 7 Group A faculty posts by direct recruitment. There are 2 Faculty / Designer posts at Pay Level 10 and 5 Associate Senior Faculty / Designer (Assistant Professor) posts at Pay Level 11 of the 7th CPC pay matrix. If you hold a design degree and have spent years in practice, this is one of the few chances to move into teaching and faculty jobs at a national design institute.
This is an offline recruitment. There is no online form: you download the application proforma from the NID MP website, fill it by hand and send it by Registered Post or Speed Post so that it reaches Bhopal by 30 October 2026. NID MP is located at Acharpura, Eint Khedi, Bhopal. It follows Government of India norms for age relaxation and medical fitness, and both posts are classified Group A. The notification (No. NIDMP/1-70/(25) Rectt.-Faculty/2026) is dated 3 September 2026.

Notice two things. The Faculty / Designer post has no SC, OBC or EWS seat – only one ST and one Unreserved seat. The Associate Senior Faculty post has no SC or ST seat. Annexure-I prints the Faculty / Designer count as “Three (02)”, but the vacancy table and the 01 ST + 01 UR split both give 2. The notification says the Faculty / Designer posts will be filled on a regular basis.

The qualification must come from a university or institution recognised or approved by UGC / AICTE, or one established by the Central or State Government. Experience is counted only from the date you acquired the essential qualification. Experience gained while pursuing a higher qualification shall not be considered towards the minimum years.

Relaxation applies only against a seat reserved for your category. No relaxation will be applicable to SC, ST, OBC or PwD candidates applying for Unreserved vacancies. The general terms say candidates should “preferably” be below the prescribed age, while Annexure-I fixes it as “not exceeding” – treat 45 and 50 as firm limits. Date of birth is taken from your SSC / Secondary School Leaving Certificate (10th or equivalent); if it is not shown there, any other GoI or State Government certificate is considered. No later request to change it will be entertained.

The notification gives the pay level but does not print the rupee amounts or allowances, so we are not quoting a figure here. Both are Group A levels in the central pay matrix. There is a probation period of two years for direct recruits. During probation the Institute can end the appointment; normally it gives one month’s notice or one month’s pay. If you want to resign, you must give three months’ notice.

NID MP has not fixed one method yet. It says the detailed methodology will be announced in the Careers section of its website, and lists of eligible candidates will appear only there – there is no separate letter. No TA/DA is paid for attending. If applications are many, only the required number of shortlisted candidates will be called, so a strong, well-documented form matters.

Do not post it in the last week. The Institute is not responsible for postal delay, and forms received after the due date shall not be considered. If you work in government, a PSU or an autonomous body, the NOC and Vigilance Clearance must go with the form itself – they cannot be added later.

Pay by Demand Draft from any scheduled bank in favour of “National Institute of Design Madhya Pradesh”, payable at Bhopal. Applying for both posts means a separate fee for each. SC, ST, PwD and Ex-Servicemen candidates must attach a valid certificate from the competent authority, otherwise their application will be rejected.
