NICL Assistant Officer (AO) Recruitment 2025 Examination Schedule and Preliminary Results

The National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) has officially released the NICL AO Recruitment 2025 Notification for 266 Administrative Officer Scale-I vacancies in both Generalist and Specialist categories. NICL is one of five wholly owned insurance companies by the Government of India, with offices and branches located across the country.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must meet the necessary educational qualifications and age requirements to be eligible to apply for the Generalist and Specialist Administrative Officer positions at the National Insurance Company Limited. Below, we discuss the detailed eligibility criteria for NICL AO 2025.

• A candidate must be: (a) a citizen of India, or (b) a subject of Nepal, or (c) a subject of Bhutan, or (d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 01st January 1962 to permanently settle in India, or (e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam to permanently settle in India.
• A candidate must hold the following qualifications: Doctors (MBBS), M.B.B.S / M.D. / M.S. or PG – Medical Degree from a recognised University OR Equivalent foreign degrees are recognised as such by the National Medical Commission (Formerly Medical Council of India) with the prescribed benchmark.
• Legal Graduate/Post-graduate in Law with min 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwBD), Chartered Accountant (ICAI) / Cost Accountant (ICWA) OR B.COM / M.COM from a recognised University with at least 60% marks in either of the degree examinations (at least 55% for SC/ST) candidates.
• B.E / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech in Computer Science/Information Technology/ MCA from a recognised University with at least 60% marks in either of the degree examinations (at least 55% for SC/ST) candidates.
• B.E. / B.Tech. / M.E. / M.Tech in Automobile Engineering from a recognised University with at least 60% marks in either of the degree examinations (at least 55% for SC/ST) candidates.
• Graduate / Post Graduate in any stream from a recognised University with at least 60% marks in either of the degree examinations (at least 55% for SC/ST) candidates.

Application Process

An Application Fee has to be submitted during the online application process for the NICL AO 2025 Exam. All Payments need to be done online either through Debit Cards (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets.

• Candidates other than SC/ST/PwD Category: Rs. 1000/-
• SC/ST/PwD Category: Rs. 250/-

Selection Process

The selection for Generalists and Specialists (except Hindi Officers) posts will be conducted in two phases- Prelims and Main,s whereas there would be a single phase examination for NICL AO Hindi Officer Specialist posts.

• Prelims- Objective Test for Generalist and Specialist posts, except Hindi Officers.
• Mains- Objective Test and Descriptive Test for Generalist and Specialist posts, except Hindi Officers.
• Single Phase Interview for NICL AO Hindi Officer Specialist posts.

Salary Structure

The initial Basic pay would be Rs. 50,925 /- in the scale of Rs. 50925-2500(14)-85925-2710(4)-96765 and such other allowances as may be admissible under the rules in force from time to time in the company.

• Basic Pay: Rs. 50,925 /-
• Pay Scale: Rs. 50925-2500(14)-85925-2710(4)-96765
• In-hand Salary: approximately Rs. 90,000/- per month in Metropolitan Centres.

The selected candidates have to serve for a minimum of 4 years (including 1 year of probation) for which an undertaking will be signed at the time of joining.

Exam Pattern

The NICL AO Examination is conducted in two phases- Prelims and Main,s. The exam pattern for both phases is provided here.

• NICL AO 2025 Prelims Exam Pattern:
• No. of Questions: 100 MCQs
• Duration: 60 minutes (1 hour)
• Penalty for incorrect answers: 0.25 marks
• Objective Test, except for “English Language”, will be bilingual (in English and Hindi).

The selected candidates have to serve for a minimum of 4 years (including 1 year of probation) for which an undertaking will be signed at the time of joining.
