Good news if you missed the earlier deadline. The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission has issued Essential Notice No. 02 dated 18 September 2026 and re-opened the JILCCE-2026 window. Registration runs again from 19 September 2026 to midnight on 29 September 2026; fee payment with photo and signature upload goes till 30 September 2026, and correction is allowed from 1 to 3 October 2026. Nothing else in Advertisement No. 03/2026 changed. Download the Date Extension Notice (PDF) or Apply Online on the JSSC Portal.
The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) is filling 326 vacancies through the Jharkhand Intermediate Level Combined Competitive Examination (JILCCE) 2026. One application lets you compete for six Intermediate-level posts in the health, planning, urban development and fisheries departments. If you have passed 12th and want a secure government job in Jharkhand, the Commission has just handed you a second chance.
Registration re-opened on 19 September 2026 and closes at midnight on 29 September 2026, with fee payment allowed till 30 September 2026. Because the basic requirement is only 10+2 (Intermediate), this is one of the best openings for young candidates starting out. Your friends at GovtJobsAlert.in explain below the revised dates, post-wise seats, eligibility, salary and selection process, so you miss no condition before the deadline.
JSSC runs combined examinations for many Jharkhand departments, and JILCCE-2026 is its Intermediate-level cycle. You apply once, pay once and sit one examination, and the same merit is used for every post you opted for. It is an excellent route for 12th-pass candidates seeking government jobs close to home.

Read the row for your own post, not the grand total, because the reservation split is not the same everywhere. Two posts carry no Backward Class (Annexure-II) seat at all, and Multipurpose Health Worker has no Extremely Backward Class seat either. If that is your category, you can compete there only for the Unreserved seats. Reservation is only for local residents of Jharkhand.
| Post | Category-wise Vacancies | Total |
|---|---|---|
| Health Supervisor | UR 57 / ST 43 (1 Primitive Tribe) / SC 16 / EBC-I 8 / BC-II 0 / EWS 13 | 137 |
| Multipurpose Health Worker | UR 35 / ST 14 / SC 7 / EBC-I 0 / BC-II 0 / EWS 6 | 62 |

| Veterinary / Medical Assistant | UR 12 / ST 7 / SC 3 / EBC-I 2 / BC-II 1 / EWS 2 | 27 |
| Grand Total | — | 326 |
Women, sports and disability quotas are horizontal, counted inside the 326 above and not added on top. The Commission has also said the category-wise and post-wise numbers may rise or fall on the departments’ request.
| Horizontal Reservation | Reserved Within 326 |
|---|---|
| Women | 16 |
| Sports Quota | 7 |
| Blindness and Low Vision | 7 |
| Deafness and Hearing Disability | 3 |
| Locomotor Disability or Cerebral Palsy | 3 |
| Autism, Intellectual and Multiple Disabilities | 1 |
The base level is Intermediate everywhere, but the stream differs, so check your own subject combination before paying the fee. Several are medical and healthcare department jobs that ask for Science or Biology.
| Post | Minimum Qualification |
|---|---|
| Health Supervisor | 10+2 in Science or I.Sc. from a recognised institution |
| Multipurpose Health Worker | 10+2 in Science or I.Sc. from a recognised institution |
| Junior Regional Investigator | Intermediate / 10+2 with Mathematics |
| Veterinary / Medical Assistant | Intermediate in Biology from a recognised college |
| Insect Collector | Intermediate / 10+2 with Biology |
| Fisheries Technical Assistant | Intermediate / 10+2 with Biology |
The last date to apply is also the reference date for qualification: if you do not hold it by 29 September 2026, you are not eligible. Holding more than one qualification, you may opt for several posts in order of preference, but only on the basis of one qualification.
The minimum age is 18 years for every post. The maximum depends on your category, and the relaxation for disabled and ex-servicemen candidates is over and above the figures below.
| Category | Maximum Age |
|---|---|
| Unreserved / EWS | 35 years |
| EBC (Annexure-I) and BC (Annexure-II) — Male | 37 years |
| Women (UR, EWS, EBC-I, BC-II) | 38 years |
| SC / ST (male and female) | 40 years |
| PwBD with 40% or more disability | 10 years extra |
| Ex-Servicemen | 5 years extra |

Here is the part most candidates get wrong. The “as on” date for age is not the last date to apply, and it is not the same for every post.
| Post | Age Reference Date |
|---|---|
| Health Supervisor | 1 August 2023 |
| Multipurpose Health Worker | 1 August 2023 |
| Veterinary / Medical Assistant | 1 August 2023 |
| Insect Collector | 1 August 2024 |
| Fisheries Technical Assistant | 1 August 2024 |
| Junior Regional Investigator | 1 August 2025 |
Only one extra relaxation is allowed — disability or ex-servicemen, never both.
All six posts sit in Pay Band-1, ₹5,200 – ₹20,200, and only the grade pay separates them. Health Supervisor carries the highest.
| Post | Grade Pay |
|---|---|
| Health Supervisor | ₹2,400 |
| Junior Regional Investigator | ₹2,000 |
| Multipurpose Health Worker | ₹1,900 |
| Veterinary / Medical Assistant | ₹1,900 |
| Insect Collector | ₹1,800 |
| Fisheries Technical Assistant | ₹1,800 |
The notification fixes only the pay band and grade pay; it names no Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance or other allowance, so plan on the grade pay alone.
These are regular state posts advertised against sanctioned vacancies, which is why a 12th-pass state job like this always draws heavy competition.
Selection is by written competitive examination in CBT or OMR mode, followed by verification of certificates. Both stages carry 3 marks for a correct answer and a deduction of 1 mark for every wrong answer, so guess carefully.
| Stage | What happens |
|---|---|
| Preliminary Examination | Generally not held if fewer than 50,000 applications are received; even above that, the Commission may go straight to the Main Examination |
| Main Examination | Three papers, each of 2 hours, in CBT or OMR mode |
| Verification of Certificates | Preliminary scrutiny of the certificates of candidates selected on the Main Examination result |
| Paper | Pattern | Counts for Merit |
|---|---|---|
| Preliminary | 120 questions in 2 hours — GS 30, Jharkhand 60, Mathematics 10, Science 10, Mental Ability 10 | No — it only decides who sits the Main Examination (15 times the seats) |
| Main Paper-1 — Language | Hindi 60 + English 60 questions, qualifying at 30% | No — these marks are not added to the merit |
| Main Paper-2 — Regional or Tribal Language | 100 questions in one language you choose from 15 options, qualifying at 30% | Yes |
| Main Paper-3 — General Knowledge | 120 questions, qualifying at 30% | Yes |
| Category | Minimum Qualifying Marks |
|---|---|
| Unreserved / EWS | 40% |
| BC (Annexure-II) | 36.5% |
| EBC (Annexure-I) | 34% |
| SC / ST and Women | 32% |
| Primitive Tribe | 30% |
Merit comes from Paper-2 and Paper-3 only, so do not pour all your effort into the language paper. Where a paper runs in shifts, marks are normalised and only normalised marks are published; a tie is broken in favour of the elder candidate. Starting on the exam syllabus and preparation material now will pay off.
These are the lines candidates skip, and each one has ended somebody’s selection.
| Condition | What it means for you |

| Disability certificate issued after the last date | Not valid — it must show 40% or more and come from the State medical board |
| Qualification not held on the last date | You are not eligible for that post |
| Application submitted without paying the fee | Will not be accepted and may be cancelled |
| Wrong information, fake certificate or impersonation | Candidature terminated, debarred from Commission examinations for 2 years, plus legal action |

Everything happens on one portal. Keep your scanned photograph and full signature ready, and use a mobile number and email you will still have next year, because your registration number and password are sent there.
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | Open the JSSC portal (link in Essential Links below) and click the JILCCE-2026 online application |
| 2 | Complete the registration — the registration number and password reach you by SMS and email |
| 3 | Log in again, fill your personal, educational and category details, and save each page before moving on |
| 4 | Choose your posts in order of preference, then pay the fee online under the JILCCE-2026 payment category |
| 5 | Upload the scanned photograph and full signature after the payment succeeds |
| 6 | Submit and take a printout, checking that your name, photo and signature are correct |
Your name and date of birth must match your Matriculation certificate exactly. Reserved-category candidates need a valid local resident certificate and caste certificate in the prescribed format — a wrong format quietly forfeits a claim later, so check them now.
The brochure’s printed schedule had already been revised once before this notice, so use only the table below. Note that the three deadlines fall on three different days.
