Reservation rules that change who can apply: an EWS seat that finds no suitable EWS candidate goes to the Unreserved category, so UR candidates may also apply for EWS seats. If no reserved-category candidate is available, the seat may be filled for less than 45 days as a de-reserved seat (the notification says any candidate can be appointed for 44 days, with possible extension). PwBD reservation follows Government of India rules, and the notification lists which disabilities are identified as suitable for each specialty. The vacancies are provisional and may increase or decrease.

The notification does not print a separate qualification for each department; it points to NMC norms, so check the NMC teaching-eligibility rules for your speciality. Eligibility of degree and experience is counted as on the 15th of the month. If your registration is not yet updated, carry the “applied for” document to the interview. Without one of the two, you may not be interviewed, or your result will be withheld, and the updated certificate must still be shown when you join. This is a strong opening for medical and healthcare professionals.
The notification also allows some flexibility. A candidate eligible for a higher post (Professor or Associate Professor) may be interviewed for a lower post and placed with a temporary upgradation. In Super Specialty departments, if no eligible candidate turns up, a lower-post candidate may be interviewed for the higher post and appointed in the lower post, and the Selection Board may relax the experience criteria. Retired and working Professors may also apply.

Teaching faculty can serve at most till 70 years of age or the contract period, whichever is earlier. The OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) certificate must be in the Central Government format, issued by an officer not below Sub-Divisional Officer rank, and not older than one year from the interview date. EWS candidates must use the Annexure-I format of DoPT OM dated 31.01.2019.

On top of basic pay you get NPA at 20% (wherever applicable and admissible), DA at 60%, HRA at 20% and TA at ₹7,200 plus DA. The remuneration is revised automatically when DA changes, but arrears of pay and allowances shall not be admissible for any retrospective revision.
Being a contract job, there is no PF, pension, gratuity, medical allowance, seniority or promotion. Leave is 2.5 days for each completed month, with no Earned Leave, Special Casual Leave or Commuted Leave, and faculty cannot do private practice after joining.
