The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has announced a walk-in interview for 45 contractual posts at ESIC Hospital, Sarojini Nagar, Lucknow. There are 17 Full Time / Part Time Specialist, 26 Senior Resident, 1 Part Time Ayurveda Physician and 1 Part Time Homeopathy Physician posts. Full-time Specialists and Senior Residents get a basic pay of ₹67,700 plus DA and HRA. If you are hunting for medical and healthcare government jobs, this one deserves your attention.

The category split changes for every department, so look at the row for your own speciality. Many departments have no Unreserved (UR) seat at all. For Ayurveda and Homeopathy, preference goes to candidates with a PG qualification. Note the Non-PG route for Senior Resident: it is a fallback, used only when PG doctors do not turn up. If you hold a PG, you come first. Doctors with a post graduate qualification have the strongest chance here.

Age relaxation for SC / ST / OBC (NCL) / Ex-servicemen / PWD is given as per Central Government rules. But remember: no age relaxation or reservation is available to SC / ST / OBC (NCL) / EWS candidates applying against an unreserved vacancy. Your age is counted on the day you appear for the interview.

Pay for Full Time Specialists and Senior Residents follows ESIC HQ instructions for Lucknow as a Y category city, and may be revised from time to time. The notification does not print a figure for the Homeopathy post, so ask at the venue before you accept. For Senior Resident experience, the notification says only “As Above”, so a fresh PG doctor should confirm eligibility with the hospital first.
A Part Time Specialist works at least 16 hours a week (4 days x 4 hours) and is not entitled to any leave or other benefits.

Being declared selected does not by itself give you the post. It is subject to scrutiny of documents at joining. The Medical Superintendent may fill all or none of the vacancies, and may alter the date or even cancel the interview.
Carry two recent colour photos, your matriculation certificate, MBBS / BDS degree with mark sheets, PG certificate, council registration, Aadhaar and PAN. Senior Resident contracts are for one year and may be extended up to 3 years on satisfactory performance and hospital need. Specialist contracts run for one year or until a regular doctor joins, whichever is earlier.
If new vacancies arise in the next six months, ESIC will hold interviews on the first Wednesday of every month (the next Thursday if that day is a gazetted holiday). Those notices appear only on the ESIC website, not in newspapers, so keep checking it.
