Good news for post-graduate teachers of Chhattisgarh! The Chhattisgarh Karmchari Chayan Mandal (CGSSB, formerly CG Vyapam) has opened online forms for 854 Lecturer (Vyakhyata) posts in government schools under the Directorate of Public Instruction. The seats are spread over eight subjects in two cadres: 424 in E cadre and 430 in T cadre. These are Gazetted Class II posts in Pay Matrix Level-09. If you want government jobs in Chhattisgarh with a steady teaching career, this is one of the biggest chances of the year.
The form is open from 29 September 2026 to 26 October 2026 (5:00 PM), and the written exam LSL26 is likely on 29 November 2026. You need a post-graduate degree in second division plus B.Ed., and a Chhattisgarh domicile certificate is compulsory. Below we explain subject-wise seats, eligibility, age relaxation, exam pattern, fees and the conditions that can cancel a candidature. Read it fully before you pay, and keep following GovtJobsAlert.in for the admit card and result.
This recruitment is run by two offices. The Directorate of Public Instruction (Lok Shikshan Sanchalanalaya) has notified the vacancies, and CGSSB only conducts the written exam and declares the result. Document verification, selection and appointment are done by the department, not by CGSSB.

You need a Post Graduation (or equivalent) in second division from a recognised university or institution in your subject group, plus B.Ed. If you are a post graduate looking for a government job, check that your PG subject falls in the accepted group:
| Lecturer Subject | Accepted PG Subject |
|---|---|
| Hindi | Hindi |
| English | English |
| Sanskrit | Sanskrit, Classics or Acharya |
| Physics | Physics, Electronics, Applied Physics or Nuclear Physics |
| Political Science | Political Science or Public Administration |
| History | History or Ancient Indian History |
| Geography | Geography |
| Economics | Economics, Applied Economics or Business Economics |
These qualifications are accepted as per NCTE notifications and court decisions issued from time to time. Your degree and B.Ed. must be obtained on or before 26 October 2026. Dual, joint and double degrees follow the UGC letter dated 05 June 2025. You must also hold a Chhattisgarh local resident (domicile) certificate.
The basic limit is 21 to 35 years. Relaxation is allowed as below:
| Category | Upper Age Relaxation |
|---|---|
| SC / ST / OBC (non-creamy layer) of Chhattisgarh | Up to 5 years |
| Women candidates | Up to 10 years |
| PwBD | As per GAD instructions |
| Permanent or temporary CG government servants | Up to 38 years |
| Temporary post holders, workcharged, contingency-paid and project committee employees | Up to 38 years |
| Retrenched government servants | Temporary service up to 7 years deducted, result not above 3 years beyond the limit |
| Savarna spouse awarded under inter-caste marriage scheme | 5 years |
| Shaheed Rajeev Pandey, Gundadhur, Maharaja Praveerchand Bhanjdeo or National Youth Award winners | 5 years |
| Employees of CG State Corporations / Boards | Up to 38 years |
| Volunteer Home Guards and Home Guard NCOs | Service period up to 8 years, not above 38 years |
| Maximum age after combining all relaxations | 45 years |
🎂 Not sure if you meet the age criteria? Use our free Age Calculator for Government Exams to find your exact age on the cut-off date and instantly check your eligibility — including any age relaxation you qualify for. →
Two points matter here. Government servants admitted with age relaxation will not be eligible for appointment if they resign from service after applying. Age will not be relaxed in any other case, and departmental candidates need prior permission from their appointing authority.
Selected lecturers join as Gazetted Class II officers in Pay Matrix Level-09.
The notification names the pay level but does not print a rupee figure, so check the state pay matrix for Level-09 rather than trusting a number quoted elsewhere. A gazetted post and a long career in the Chhattisgarh school education service make this a strong option for PG and B.Ed. holders.
