Mumbai, March 12, 2026: The Central Railway (CR), under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, has released an official notification (RRC/CR/AA/2025/Part-II) for the engagement of 51 Act Apprentices its workshops and units. This recruitment drive, conducted under The Apprentices Act 1961, offers a one-year training program in designated trades for ITI-certified candidates. The online application window is open from March 10, 2026 (11:00 AM) to April 9, 2026 (5:00 PM).

The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), Central Railway, serves as the nodal agency for this centralized notification. Selected candidates will undergo training in clusters including Mumbai, Bhusawal, Pune, and Solapur, with stipends as per RBE No. 116/2025. Notably, this is a non-employment training program, and completion does not guarantee absorption into Central Railway.

Vacancy Details

The recruitment drive offers 51 training slots distributed across four clusters and five trades. Below is the category-wise distribution of vacancies:

Eligibility Criteria

1. Age Limit (as of March 10, 2026)

• Minimum Age: 15 years
• Maximum Age: 24 years

2. Educational Qualification

• Matriculation: Must have passed 10th class (or equivalent) with minimum 50% aggregate marks from a recognized board.
• ITI Certification: Must possess a National Trade Certificate (NTC) or Provisional NTC in the applied trade issued by NCVT/SCVT.
• Exclusions: Engineering graduates and diploma holders are not eligible for these apprenticeships.

3. Physical Fitness

• Candidates must meet the medical standards prescribed in Annexure VII of the notification.
• A medical certificate signed by a Government-authorized doctor (not below Assistant Surgeon rank) is mandatory for document verification.

4. Persons with Disability (PwBD) Eligibility

Only the following disabilities are eligible for reservation:

• Locomotor/Cerebral Palsy (OH): Minimum 40% disability.
• Hearing Handicapped (HH): 60 decibels or more in the better ear.
• Visually Handicapped (VH/LV): Low vision as defined under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act.
